Take the snap from under center.

Play action passing.

Called QB draws when you see man coverage and no spy.

WRs jet sweeps.

More 2 back sets, using misdirection and screens.

Widen the gaps on the oline.

At least one deep shot a quarter.

Max protect and go routes.

I'd put 'widen gaps' first to see if a run game can be established to do anything else since it's basically a requirement.

What a bunch of rationalizations by a lot of posts here. Good for Coach to call out fans that beat up a freshman kicker. It was absurd what fans said and did.

Also, Coach said the lack of offense is on him. He sits in on all meetings their lack of production is on him - don't blame anyone else. Do some of you not read or listen to the post game?
Man I hate to tell you, but theres this thing called coach speak....

So you would run misdirection? What do you counter with if it gets blown up? What do you run to set it up? How open have the receivers been for long throws? Does Dekkers have adequate time often?

What are you seeing that leads you to believe that ISU can just 'do' these things?

Seriously, what don't you understand about what I've been asking for all this time? Yes, misdirection would be nice to see. Jet sweeps to Noel or even try Adams maybe? Basically we need to make opposing defenses cover the entire field.

Right now they can bring everyone up, crowd the LOS because we're not a threat to throw deep at all. They can also concentrate primarily on the inside running game and not defend the edges because we never threaten the edges. And they can also have all 11 guys go to the flow of the play because we are no threat to run any misdirection against the flow of the play.

When defenses have blitzed their LBs on us.... have you ever seen us just do a simple hot read to the TE on a quick slant into the area vacated by the LBs coming on a blitz.... I haven't. Or a screen to beat a blitz? I haven't.

KSU threw a deep ball into triple coverage last night and guess what..... they got a PI call against us. But we never even attempt that because there's a chance it could get intercepted and be the equivalent of a punt basically... we wouldn't want that!

We don't force defenses to defend much of the field at all. We are very predictable and very vanilla.

And you feel like we don't have the players to try any of this.... and I think we need to at least try.... and I think we do have the players to do this. We'll just have to agree to disagree. I'm not guaranteeing any success.... but why not try?

If Campbell is a evidenced based guy, 5-15 in games where the spread is +/- 3 points is pretty hard evidence your strategy isn't working. Needs to figure it out if he wants to get over the hump. Part of it I was thinking that last year would have been more like this year had the extra Covid year not happened. The next wave had to cut their teeth sometime.

I don't believe ISU has the line/run game or the speed to do much or any of this consistently. Correct.

Maybe an occasional jet sweep/hand off to Noel on his motion since the motion never seems to have any other purpose but it's not going to be reliable if there's not a run game established.

We get it... you don't think anything will work. You could very well be correct about that. But I'd like to try everything at least before throwing in the towel and just assuming it won't work.

Literarlly have fans booing the QB the OC and the players 2 hours east of here at every single home game...Non stop..

Our ST are a complete disaster on the road with nearly 5k ISU fans showing up to that game at KU and Our HC decides to throw the fan base under the bus?

This fan base is truly one of the most patient and supportive fan bases you will find in all of sports.

Go to Nebrasks Matt..Go To Michigan Matt or Go to ND Matt...and see exactly what happens to coaches and players and their families when **** hits the fan and you are losing.

I was of the opinion that ISU cannot afford to lose CMC and I truly appreciate all he's done. But right now Matt Campbell cannot afford to lose ISU.

Campbell can most certainly afford to lose Iowa State.

I think wi
I'm afraid this might be the beginning of the end for CMC if he doesn't take some responsibility for these losses and do something about the offense. The fanbase will not be kind to CMC for ridiculing them after all the support they give to this program that continues to lose games they have no business losing.
how much he’s getting paid and considering that KU just got a good coach. We can go get a coach that will win at ISU. CMC has proven that you can win at ISU. We love CMC but he just can’t make adjustments at OC and it has been a weak link for ISU in a long time.

you know what never works? Plays you never run.

now will you shut up with all the “ISU players aren’t good enough to run plays that high schoolers can run” shtick?

I think a jet sweep might work onceish and maybe something in the seams for passing or like Noel coming out of the backfield last night to the flats but I don't see them as something you just go back to and lean on automatically.

I actually think even ISU's straight ahead runs are still too long developing and making it a quicker hand off may help.

Right now the line makes last year's look really good.

What is this based on? One long drive against a bad Iowa team? The Ohio game?
Not sure where you’re going with this. If you want to make the case that our talent on offense can only average single digit scoring in Year 7 even with solid coaching, how is that better?

Oh is that what I said?

I'm watching the Bears right now. Can you tell me why David Montgomery doesn't just get 10 yards a pop like I want to see happen?
