This is what people need to do if they're really sick of Matt. Speak with your radio dial. Email 1460--not Matt, but his boss, the ad people, the purse strings. Let them know that you're now a 1700 4pm listener. Otherwise all the ******** on CF just does nothing.

You're all forgetting something.

Sports talk hosts don't care if you hate them or post on a message board about them. They LIKE IT when you email their boss and tell them how much you hate them, because that means YOU ARE LISTENING.

Don't email, don't call. Just stop listening.

And ignore all the threads about Sportstalkmatt. I know it will be difficult, but it must be done.

Remember Gorgan from the original Star Trek episode "And the Children Shall Lead"? "Star Trek" And the Children Shall Lead (1968) The children stopped feeding the monster (Gorgan) with their hate, and he disappeared, repeating the words "Death to you all!"

Sportstalkmatt is Gorgan. Don't email, don't call. Just stop listening.

Let's start a petition for the Chris and Miller show. I throughly enjoy listening to C-Willy on the air. He's the only reason I listened to KXNO this week.

Matt opens the show saying he and Walters buried the hatchet, doesn't apologize for his antics. *Click* goes the radio and bring on the ipod.

It would be nice if CW would quit being his buddy - something's wrong there.

there is no way CW can do that it would hurt his career in the future, but it would have been great when Matt said "Pollard hates me!" If CW said "Everybody does!"

How does CW losing access to local talk radio make anything better? Matt P will sink his own ship if he can't access those that matter with 1/2 his audience (Pollard, Walters, ISU coaches, etc.).

You hammer on people all the time for things in the past so the girlfriend episode and all it's creepiness is fair game in my eyes.

Oh, come on. It was a joke, but also relevant, as both pertain to radio professionalism. I don't think anyone is hammering you for Fred - man, that was really, really awful radio yesterday, and as the main host, it is your job to not let it go there.

Your opinion on Pollard is not what is questionable. Your professionalism (yesterday) really was. I still don't understand why you haven't apologized for it. You harrassed a guest and then waited for him to save your show. If John wasn't a pro, you would have had a disaster on your hands.

It was a digrace. This story about the ex girlfriend is solid comedy gold though. :biglaugh:

I understand that there is a market for rabble rousing, completely uniformed sports rant on radio, and Matt delivers that. Sometimes he even has a fact or two buried in it, but, br'er, when news breaks, you've got to put on your news cap, and leave the jokey analysis for later.

Because what he did yesterday was a mortal broadcast sin: he opined on breaking news, and in a fairly sloppy and grating way, to boot. It is one thing to raise your listeners' hackles - it is another to take the "morning zoo" approach to breaking news.

I'm serious: Yesterday I felt like I was attending my nephew's bris...and they hired a clown for entertainment.

A bad job outta Matt, so to speak. It was worse than "stirring the pot," and much closer to "pooping one's self."

Really? Have you witnessed Marty disrespecting John Walters like that on air? Has Pollard cut Marty off from communication?
You don't have to be a fan of Marty, but Matt P should now be officially ranked behind Terrill for no other reason that he does not have a clue how/ when to show proper respect to those that have earned that right.

Pls note: that is not the same as saying he has to agree with them.

I'm hardly ever one to stand up for Perrault - I've ripped him here and on HN many times - but I don't think he "disrespected" John. He (Perrault) was snickering about the the hire (which was kind of a ****** move) when John came on the air, and then John went into his rant about Matt having a beef with Pollard.
