My video stream is not watchable. What am I doing wrong. The comercial plays fine the then the video is horrible. When there is motion the whole screen is covered with color smears.

True but we were expecting scores like that from last years team. Can't say the same about this team.

True, but I still think we'll struggle a lot this year. These guys are a half foot shorter than us and just not in our league athletically. We will look overmatched against Big 12 frontlines.

Yes, we did score a lot of points in the past 2 years in the exhibition game, but we had CB and Gilstrap and all around a more talented team. With this offense and how hard they're playing, I think this is going to be a fun year. I'm getting really excited for it.

I think that we will have a tough time finishing at .500 this year. Even if we look fairly sharp now, and we may even win a few games in the first half of the season, but I have a hard time believing that this team will hold up down the stretch. We are counting on a lot of minutes out of true freshmen this year, and it is very tough to weather the BigXII your first time out.

But this certainly looks like an entertaining style of basketball to watch.

maybe this has been posted but I'm on my phone so I can't watch the game will there be highlights/videos after the game? if so, how soon would they be up? I really want to see us play and all the talk about how fun we are to watch really got me pumped up.

Agree. I don't think anyone is saying were going to the NCAA tournament based off of this first half but if shots are falling like they are tonight, we can compete in a lot of games. That's pretty much all I want this year. Be competitive.

Agreed. Very excited about this year even if we struggle. It's the beginning of something very good.

The up-tempo offense will cause us to score a lot in some games, but we'll also give up a lot in some games because of it, too. Very fun to watch, though.

Must be a computer or network issue on your end. It looks fine on my computer. I'd try downloading and installing the latest version of Flash if you don't already have the latest version installed.

Boy you get alot of lay-ups in during the warmup when you only have a 8 person line.

I think you could sum up Fred's philosophy in one statement: Make things as simple as possible.

Why make the game harder than it needs to be? Run as much as possible in order to get easy baskets and good looks. Space the floor well at all times in order to give yourself the best opportunity to score as well. And... don't hold on to the ball more than a second or so. Keep it moving. This also frees everything up as well.

Greg McDermott was well known for his 120 page playbook. He slowed us down at almost every chance and made us run his infinite set plays. He basically made the game hard. We lacked proper spacing on the court, held on to the ball for what seemed like forever at times, and were then forced to launch a horrible shot when the shot clock wound down.

And not only does Fred want to make the game simple... but he also wants it to be fun! These guys look like they love playing this style. And you will play better when you're having fun out there. And you will play better when you have a little more freedom out there too. Don't be afraid to make a mistake. Be aggressive.

I think Hoiberg will be able to attract a LOT of great recruits to play this style of ball. Who wouldn't like to play like this?

I have seen several of UD's players play. When they were in high school at such power houses as Guttenberg, Bellevue, Anamosa, East Dubuque. Basically they are an eastern iowa all-star team.
anamosa a basketball powerhouse? haha
