Re: Mcdermott's motto: It's Morgan's fault.
It's more of ultra-McDermott Supporters' motto, but anyway
If you look at it, especially from a recruiting standpoint...Morgan didn't really have much more talent than GMac has had here. Just recruiting wise, Morgan had a total of one more Rivals top150 players than GMac has had and just averaging that stuff, they averaged the same rating of player. Also GMac managed to recruit Wes Johnson, who wasn't recruited out of HS/prep school much at all, but he had the talent (Would be a high 4 or 5 star now).
I never bought into this stuff. GMac had the opportunity to retain players after he got hired, but it never happened. Brackins was a better recruit/talent than Taggart, and DG was just as highly touted as Stinson out of HS (which wasn't THAT high..at the bottom of the rivals 150). Colvin is around the same as Blalock too recruiting wise.. Not to mention GMac managed to recruit the Nebraska, Iowa, AND Wisconsin Mr. Basketballs (and the runner-up Wisconsin Mr. Basketball) to come to ISU.
