Prohm says McKay is suspended indefinitely. Could be one game, could be more

HC Campbell Should talk to Kay. Effort and Attitude.
A lot of people need to talk to McKay. Fizer should pay him a visit, too.
I think 1 or 2 people talking to him might just go in one ear and out the other.
Sooner or later he might realize whats being said, hopefully sooner.

The length of suspension will depend on McKay.. First he needs to agree not to read or post on social media.
I don't think he is very adept at handling those few **** fans that ISU has.

Sucks Prohm has to play the roll of suppernanny trying to instill discipline, but it is what it is.

Listening to Georges, he was pretty outspoken and had several comments that sure seemed to be aimed at McKay.

Listening to Monte, he's doesn't seem nearly as angry about it.

Really want to see Jameel back playing with the right attitude but I don't think it will happen. Our ceiling is obviously higher with him playing to his potential but we can't afford to have him poisoning the team while we wait for him to maybe or maybe not get his head out of his ***. Fred seemed to be really good at dealing with egos and **** attitudes but not every coach handles it like him. Jameel needs to accept that Prohm is calling the shots now, buy in, and stop acting like a ******* queen.

Some people really need to stop telling everybody to keep it positive because being negative will only make him worse. The responsibility is all on McKay here. He can either decide to step up and prove us wrong or keep playing the victim. Not fair for the rest of these guys to sacrifice what could still be a great season because of one guy with an ego problem. If you couldn't tell, I'm sick and tired of thinking/talking/hearing about Jameel McKay instead of the team.

Personally, I think that fans don't need to be ********. Like what does it accomplish for fans to be dicks towards McKay? Nothing. It does nothing good. So why do it? Let the team/coaches handle it.

During Niang's postgame interview with Heft, he seems to be sending a little message as well. When asked about Burton, he said "All I can say is great, that guy's been unbelievable, hes done everything you've asked for him, you take him out of the game he's still over there with a smile, pumping his fist on the bench, then goes in a makes athletic plays. Who wouldn't wanna play with a guy like that? Just the amount of energy he gives us on a day to day basis is huge. I'm thankful to have him on this team."

One thing good about the situation now, is that he's been suspended, and been told to stay home on a road trip, so it's obviously out there.

If or when he comes back, he'll have to earn his PT, so if he does something stupid, or against Prohm, it's not going to look odd when he pulls him. The team will understand, and they know they have to adjust.

McKay will have to be held accountable.

You got that form a 90 second post game interview on espn?

I got that from the radio interview. It was a lot of talking about players that are excited when others do well. Complimenting Burton for being excited whether he was on the floor or on the bench. Talking about everyone being together. If anyone listened to Georges talk to Eric and didn't come away thinking that he was talking about McKay, they are probably stupid.

Jameel is just an immature guy and needs to gain some maturity very quickly to help this team. It wasn't great that he was responding to media inquiries and tweeted out the length of his suspension that differed from what Iowa State had officially announced.

I really hope that his teammates and coaches can get him right quickly, because if he focuses only on the goal of helping Iowa State win basketball games, he will be a very dangerous and very valuable player again. He needs to let his basketball ego go.

On the post game interview Prohm had some good things to say.

1. Jameel and him have to work things out.
2. This team needs Jameel in order to max out.
3. He loves Jameel.
4. But in order for him to prepare players for their future whether it is the NBA, overseas, a regular job, he has to do his job.
5. Prohm didn't come here just to be the coach this year, he came to build a program and has to do that.
