Has anyone seen this ad for new customers to sign up for Mediacom internet for $19.99 for a year and does not require cable to get that price? We got a flier in the mail, which mentions the price only goes up $10 the second year. I've been with Qwest/Century Link forever, but am stuck with 1.5 Mbps speed where I live in Ankeny. So thinking about trying this out for two years. Wondering if anyone else has signed up for this yet.

I did it but I was already a cable subscriber. I have Mediacom for the cheap internet. It just went back up to full price so I am reviewing options.

The internet was very good and a steal at 19.99 and even 29.99.

I was just looking at that same flyer and fine print over lunch.

Seems too good to be true...since Qwest went up from the intro price to $60 for internet only, and all other Mediacom deals required bundling. As far as I can tell, it is just $19.99 and applies for internet only.

If this is the deal it is different than what I got back in march/april. Mine was no contract....19.99 first year...goes up to like 30 the second year but I can leave anytime.

All cable/satellite companies do it but I HATE that the only time they offer reasonable prices is for new customers. A smart customer just goes back in between DSL and cable.

I signed up for this deal a year ago. It was 19.95 . Just got my 1st bill for the 2nd year, it's 34.95. No complaints here.

I bit on this promotion several years ago.

My very last Mediacom bill in April was nearly $70 with taxes. I decided to dump Mediacom after they informed me that they were going to start charging me $5 a month to rent the cable modem that I they gave me to start service with.

I went to DSL and have had no complaints other than a bulkier wallet.

I am a long time Mediacom subscriber and I called yesterday to add a few (approx 6) HD channels, the service agent noted I was receiving a significant reduction based on the # of channels I am subscribing to. To add the 6 HD channels was going to cost an additional $26 per month, I impolitely declined. She gave me some mumbo-jumbo that since I was a long term customer that I was receiving the benefit of a very old pricing structure and to make the change I would have the new pricing structure put in place.

Obviously the existing customers are heavily subsidizing the new customers.

Anyone get in on this? The only thing I could find online was 19.99 for the first 12 months and then it goes up every 10 bucks a month after that.
