Thank you for your kind words.
Playing oversees makes it very difficult to see my family but luckily I was able to get a few people over to Italy and they were able to enjoy that with me as well. I stopped getting home sick a long time ago, when you leave home at 15 to go to a different country and make something of a sport being home sick didn't really seem like an option.

Coming from someone who has moved a lot over the years, the best way to combat homesickness is to cultivate family wherever you land. You know you will always have a home here at ISU. :)

Welcome to CF Melvin. You're #3 should be in Hilton's rafters eventually IMO.

What's the craziest thing you've seen in Italy/in your post college travels?

Also: do you still have the Keg Stand t-shirt?

The craziest thing I've seen in Italy, is the driving, they are very lenient with their rules and the motorcycles do as the please.
And I'm not sure if I still have that shirt might have gave it to my younger brother who is now in college and should be getting some good use out of it.

Hey Mel. I was also a history major at ISU (quite a while ago). Do you think you might eventually like to teach (after the millions you make playing hoops, that is) and/or coach? I have found teaching to be one of the most rewarding things I've done in my life (although it can often be a thankless job). Anyway - thanks for representing Cyclone Nation so well. Here's hoping your Jersey will be hanging in the rafters at Hilton sometime in the near future - you deserve it!

Teaching could be a possibility, I think giving back to younger generations in such a direct way would be really fulfilling but I have never really put much thought into it.

LOL this is awesome. Melvin Ejim on CF. Hey - when in Europe, did you get to travel around much on your own time to other cities? There's some great **** out there for people who love history like you.

While playing in euro cup, which is like a second league all over Europe I was able to see some really nice cities, Prague, Istanbul, Seville, some where ridiculously cold in Russia, but there was a lot of traveling and I was exposed to some great cities

who do you have for the nba finals Mel? Golden State looks awful good.

I second this question. 4 days ago I would have said Clippers but they are one step away from compoleting one of the biggest choke jobs in NBA history. Same old with this franchise.

Awesome! Glad to hear - I was going to mention Istanbul. Between that and Rome, it's like having a history orgasm.

Hahah earlier in my career they may have been but thank God for lotion

I'll admit, I called you "stone hands" once or twice early in your career. I'm glad you proved me wrong later and you became one of my favorite players ever in the process.

Kudos for having an awesome career and making us happy.

Melvin, obviously you're getting saturated with Q&A's, but ... well, here's a couple more

1. What historic event (or period in history) do you find most fascinating?
2. Name your five most memorable games as a Cyclone (can include both team-wise and personal). Ranking is not required.

You're allowed two or three days to think about it.

Whoa! I am gone for a couple days and come back to see my 2nd favorite Clone of all time posting here. Welcome, Melvin! Great to have you here. Hope all is well. If you plan on visiting your family in Albuquerque this summer, I challenge you to a game of one on one. As long as you promise to call 911 if I fall over.

Hey guys I'm kind of new to this and don't know the best way to reply to everyone, but i will be verifying this account via twitter and some other ways. For some of the questions I have seen, I wish i could shed some light on the bulls fred situation but Im in the dark, not to much i can say about it at the moment. As for coming back to the games it was hard for me to find the time to travel back to ames from Europe while also playing in my own league, but hopefully some time soon Ill be able to attend a game. As for the NBA thats always a goal, so ill have to see what my options are this summer and go from there but I haven't giving up yet!

This is either awesome as all hell (I say this even as an Iowa fan), or this is the absolute greatest troll in the history of trolling.

Edit: I paid absolutely zero attention to the time stamps. I'm way behind the curve here (like my allegiances didn't give that away already, in all of your eyes).
