If theyou think Campbell us being to "business" oriented, what do they expect him to do when he takes over a failing program? I can understand they want a family feel type of program, but they should also realize that some things need to be taken seriously. I bet once Campbell has things somewhat under control, things in the program will have a different feel.

tolfbfan has already told us what Campbell's program is like. Sounds good to me. If someone doesn't want it, then I would suspect there are other issues involved.

Yes. Moya, Harvey, Northrup, Jones, Peavy, Tribune, Campos, Philbert, Daley, and Wesley should all leave. This would be optimal.

I don't want anyone to leave but color me idgaf if we lose some guys during this coaching change. The guys you mention aren't crucial to building a base like the the three I mentioned are. those are the 3 guys I have identified that will be the biggest part of what Campbell can do going forward that is left over from CPR.

The guys you mentioned I put in the "Good for ISU but not really that good in the overall scheme of things" or "production/impact on the team could be replaced fairly easily" categories.

What time did they practice before? I figured those other rules were already in place.

Rhoads did 6am winter workouts in the month or so leading up to spring break, two or three days a week. Plus lifting groups every day including some at 6am. After spring break, practices were twice a week around 4 (meetings around 2) and then late morning/early pm on Saturdays plus lifting groups every day. Fall practices all after school with lifting throughout the day to accommodate schedules. His staff also used class attendance checkers, I think for all freshmen, new team members, and anyone on in or close to having academic issues.

I don't think there was a rule about where you could sit or having to be there early (frankly, that's impossible sometimes with how classes are scheduled). Some student-athletes at the school I'm at now also have to sit in the front two rows, and not on the ends or in the corners. Front and center.

About "getting our MAC on"...ISU is a ways from mediocrity now. I don't know what fantasyland some of these guys were living in, but the team sucked. Maybe some of the new twitter and video releases are cheesy. But at least it's a better approach than claiming you're hard hat or blue collar. I mean, what kind of selling point is that to a 17 year old kid? Come here because we are blue collar and work hard. I know FB players have to love the weightroom and all, but that just does not sound enticing. Come here and go to work. Kids don't want to work, no one wants to work. It's a necessary obstacle to get where you want to go. They needed to sell less of the process and more of the payoff.

Good points. Regarding process, I saw no evidence of one the last three years. If Campbell thinks doing a complete re-model down to the studs (no pun intended) is required, then we have to trust him. It's his *** that's on the line if it doesn't work out.

He wouldn't get kicked off the team for this, would he? Or is this his way of not giving up pot?

It will be interested to see how this gets spun. "I need to find a program that is a better fix, I mean fit."
so the Colorado pufalos have been tampering with him?

I guess Thomas won't be poaching all of the TD's from Warren now? Seriously though, this isn't great. I think Thomas was our RB2 and Montgomery was WR3 statistically.

Posters will spin their departures into rainbows everywhere.

Yup it's no big deal to lose a guy who had offers from Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Mississippi St., Ohio State, etc (per rivals and espn). Those guys are a dime a dozen at ISU.

Fear? I'm jubilant. Clean the house. As long as Lazard, Lanning, and Warren are on board everyone else can gtfo.

What was our record the past 3 years? Like I said I don't want anyone to leave but a couple backups want to leave then who cares?
You've changed your tune. People were disagreeing with you because you were saying everyone except for 3 players should GTFO. It's a great recruiting class, but there needs to be a base to build off of or those guys will get destroyed and may possibly never amount to anything

This means the new staff has had some conversations with the players now and some of them are beginning to realize that there's not going to be acceptance of "old ways" of doing things, or that any "status quo" situations are going to be tolerated. I'm guessing it's just a matter of "Up your game to an Elite level or move on" kind of conversations. Some of the mentally weak or other at risk types will fail this simple test, and it's better to know early than in August.

Saw some key players at the recruitment day celebration in Sukup. Tucker, Peavy, Lazard. They were positioned to be signing autographs on posters, so they seemed to be embracing the new regime.

Lanning was there signing autographs too. I have no doubt the staff is reaching out to current players, and even more so now that recruiting has died down. One of the first things CMC did after being named head coach was to call Mitch Meyers and wish him luck in his treatments, and assure him he expects him to be on the field for the Cyclones again. CMC's team rules may be different or even tougher and the competition may get tougher, but if a player doesn't think he can handle it he can always leave, and there will likely be more of that. Losing Thomas is tough, but as others have said, Montgomery looks like he will be just as big with more speed, and we'll have players that can fill his role.

Rumor has it the staff told the players a failed drug test would be an immediate boot, but D'Vario still failed. If that's the case, pretty boneheaded on his part.

I suspect you are thinking beyond 2016, but a good 2016 maintains the momentum, so Tucker is absolutely critical. Excluding him in that category is crazy.

i agree if guys are not buying in then I hope they leave. But from a talent standpoint I think people are not being realistic about this recruiting class. Outside of Catalina, if he ends up here, there isn't a DL or OL prospect ready to play and upgrade those position groups probably until 2017 at the earliest. It's still a recruiting class that is very good by ISU standards. Just like KCM, Campos, Jh. Thomas and others are very talented players by ISU standards.

Could be a few more announcements possibly then. I also look for the chronically injured on our team to leave the team.
