Not worried about the RB position at all.... as long as the OL improves.
A healthy Norton might be as good or better than Brock IMO.... and Sanders is no slouch either. And I think the transfer Harris could surprise... and CMC mentioned Sama and Hanson already are playing like Big 12 RBs as true freshman.
Brock was seldom healthy anyway... but neither was Norton, so there's that.
I am excited to hear Campbell talk about the freshman running backs like he did. If he's been good for one thing it's making great RB.
I agree that he is, but two weeks ago I was at a charity event where Campbell couldn't say enough good things about Remsburg and his leadership skills and his expectations. This investigation has been going on since around May 1. Maybe Campbell doesn't think Remsburg is going to be a major casualty?
Our line in 2020 was good. Yes, we had Breece, but they were clearly Campbell's best OL.
That was my biggest gripe. We have slow, unathletic OL, and we're trying to make them cover a bunch of ground. Brock was successful because he got to the hole. The rest of the guys were dancers. Bad comboBut ”The Blind Side” makes it look so easy. Gonna have to re-watch that movie, concentrating less on Sandra Bullock.
As kidding aside, you know a lot more about what it takes to be a good OL than me. Just seems that our linemen have lacked a degree of aggressiveness the past few years. Plus, our running plays are slow-developing, making it hard for the linemen to hold their blocks.
On the bright side, I was pleasantly surprised to see Hufford voted preseason first team all-conference. I knew he was good, but didn’t realize he was at that level. I also have really high hopes for Miller, who I heard was essentially with one arm much of last year after suffering an early season injury.
It’s hilarious when I see some of you folks call our OL guys “slow and unathletic”. I have two words for you.
Fisher twins.
Just two or three of those would be a deal I would take.

It's all relative, relax. Obviously D1 OL are extremely athletic humans. But last season our OL was slow compared to the competition.
We’ll, when you’re dinged up and have no healthy running backs to keep the defense from selling out, that happens.
Unless any of you want tell to me that the 5’6” guy now at Rhode Island (or wherever) actually counted as a viable threat? Nah, I didn’t think so.
You're being a little sensitive here. Sounds like you have a connection to the OL. Everyone has injuries. Our OL sucked last season. It happens.
Lol. That’s…about as creative a statement as I’ve heard in all of my years here. I haven’t had any “connection” of any kind to the football program since about the time McCarney was first hired, and I wasn’t being “sensitive”, just expressing my opinion.
And “everyone has injuries” is a lame excuse, because everyone says it…even though the simple fact is that all teams don’t. Not where their team is riddled.
Ask any UNI fans and they'll say they hate losing Clanton because they know what he can do. Especially recruiting and mentality-wise.
They'll also warn you that his first 2 or 3 years were borderline awful until "his" guys and style of player was there. Even with the talent they've produced the last few years - Brown, Penning, Penning, Scott-Brown, etc. the one thing you hear is that they tend to be technically weaker. They are big, strong, punch-you-in-the-mouth (quite literally) dawgs but they tend to be fundamentally and technically weaker. Look at the scouting reports and draft grades for the guys that have gone to the NFL or through the process. The big knock is feet and hands. Against most of the FCS that works because the depth of talent on the DL isn't there week to week, so they could just beat the hell out of the DL and have it work. Brown and Penning were notorious for being called for personal fouls for "unnecessary roughness" for finishing blocks. They were really penalties, but they were so much bigger and stronger than everyone else it just looked bad. That will be great when it eventually gets to that point here, but being fundamentally weaker in the B12 isn't going to fly quite as easily simply because you're a "dawg"
