What can you count on in life? Death, taxes and acoustimac coming to the defense of CBF! First, as with any coach, what CBF says in public is likely self-serving and should be taken with a grain of salt. Second, it's well established his sharp tongue and coaching style isn't well-received by every player. He can be both a fine coach and an "icehole" - a younger co-worker told me this morning CBF was so described by a successful tall post player we would all consider a success story.
When you have contributing players leaving a successful program with eligibility remaining, it's acceptable to wonder why, and it's not necessary to believe it's for a different graduate program just because that's the convenient narrative. Maybe after four years, they're just tired of walking on eggshells and getting yanked from games the second they commit a turnover.
You say there's "nothing to see here", to which I respond, "where there's smoke, there's fire."
P.S. I'm just having fun here - it's a long off-season and I enjoy talking about ISU women's hoops! I like Mac's game write-ups and know how much he loves the team. Somebody wrote, "Bill is ISU athletics" in another thread, and that's where we part company. I love ISU and ISU Women's Basketball, but NOBODY is bigger than the franchise, including CBF. JMHO.
