Tubthumping by Chumbawamba. Partly because I really do like the song, partly because it takes me back to a different time...I remember going to my friend's 21st birthday party, and we were all standing on chairs singing/yelling this at the top of our lungs over and over again.

Is there something wrong with Tubthumping, or Chumbawamba?

I sing the song Pineapple Princess by Annette Funicello with my daughters every morning on the way to day care. I may or may not also play it when they aren't in the truck.

We get it. You are fertile.

I was young enough that when this song came out, I thought that "******* the night away" meant you really had to go to the bathroom.

There's a bunch of songs from Les Mis that I'm a sucker for. Also, Miley has a very good voice if you can get around the other bs. Her cover of Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome" is damn catchy and will stay in my head all day.

Oh and not at all ashamed at liking a little Tubthumping.

Edit: my list isn't complete without Blondie's Tide is High

I'm a child of the 80's so I have plenty of one hit wonders lurking in my collection that I'm vaguely embarrassed by:

Safety Dance - Men Without Hats
And we Danced - Hooters
Video Killed the Radio Star - The Buggles
She Blinded me with Science - Thomas Dolby
Walk like an Egyptian - The Bangles
99 Luftballoons - Nena
Pass the Dutchie - Musical Youth
The Metro - Berlin
Turning Japanese - The Vapors
Etc, etc, etc.......

I too was a young kid in the 80s, and there were quite a few weird pop songs like 99 luftballoons about nuclear holocaust. I found the videos and mismatch between the sound and subject matter to be creepy. I may be incorrectly inflating how much fear there was of nuclear war, but that could be because my parents would let me watch things like that "Day After" miniseries when I was maybe 5 or 6. It took me years before I could enjoy fine cinema starring Steve Guttenberg.

As for me, I love Reelin' in the Years by Steely Dan, which is a classic song and isn't embarrassing on its own, but the only way I ever listen to the song is by watching the live performance on Sugarman's Midnight Special (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKOq7-mNeaE).

Oh yeah, and the "Hail to the Princess Aurora" song at the beginning of Sleeping Beauty is totally killer.

Midnight at the Oasis
Send your camel to bed....

LOVE that song!

And most michael jackson music even though I keep picturing little boys in my head.

We had a similar thread topic on CF a while back, I think. I recall saying if I genuinely like a song/artist, I'm rarely embarrassed to admit it. (I might not have been as much like that in my more "hipster" days.)

Even so, I'm sure there are songs I'd be less likely to volunteer that I enjoy, compared to others. Can't think of any off-hand, but give me time...

Hey man, Nena is cool. No need to be embarrassed.

How about Strokin by Clarence Carter?
