Plus Mundiay is a true one an done player, he chose to play his one year close to home so his family can watch. SMU is putting a concerned effort into improving their Basketball program, new facilities and paying Brown, a coach who has both a NCAA and NBA championship. Plus with their move to the American Athletic Confernce they will be playing some good competition.
Rumors have it after the Mundiay commitment Myles Turner (another top player from Texas) the Mustangs now under consideration and may take one of his officials there.
Larry Brown is putting his stamp on the program, thus it is about time for him to jump to the next job.

We want Myles Turner to go to Louisville to increase our chances on Jaylen Johnson. Turner now considering, although its only considering, SMU isn't what we want to see.

Thank you. I think it's pretty pathetic that people think money is involved anytime a lesser known school has a big time prospect commit to them. Same with Kentucky. The truth is, Calipari doesn't need to cheat st that school.

I don't necessarily think it's pathetic for a person to consider this logic. Does every lesser known school pay out, very unlikely. But we all know, cough Baylor cough, that boosters/colleges pay players and some have been caught and get in trouble for it. So to completely leave it out of question is also ignorant. Do I think SMU is paying Mudiay? No, as it seems he has ties to the school, which would be my second guess behind the obvious reason of coach Larry Brown. Every player has their own reasons and unless sources are verified to validate, it's all speculation anyways on who we think does it.

SMU also got 2013 5 star SG Keith Frazier. There was a rumor he was going to Texas Tech but he winded up at SMU. Two 5 stars now for SMU.

Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but it seems to me it's not difficult for a top prospect to get to the NBA even if you play for Iowa St or SMU, or other top-conference team.

The NBA scouts will find you.

I'm reminded of Marcus Fizer's comment that he wanted to compete against and beat the teams with the top talent. To me that seems like a bigger impact and impression.

If he's going to be 1 and done, why would he care if Brown is going to leave in a few years - if indeed this is correct?
