Wins and losses are the ultimate barometer, but I'm not sure how you can say Iowa State has been inept or incompetent through four games. Good chat!

Blum... you should just give up. This site has been taken over by at least 100 posters trying to be the most clever ever in the history of posting.

Anyone who has suddenly changed their mind about this team might be in for some harsh reality in the weeks ahead I'm afraid. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it.

We've beaten UNI and Kansas. UNI is not even close to the team they've been the last few years with David Johnson, and KU might be the worst Big 12 team EVER.... as CW himself has said.

In the UNI game, our offense did virtually nothing. We had awesome punt returns all night and great field position all night. Any halfway decent team would have put up nearly 50 pts on them that night IMO. Look at the game stats, UNI had more yards than us, more 1st downs than us, and more time of possession than us. I know stats don't tell the whole story, but they were not outmatched in that game whatsoever.

And yesterday, let's get serious here.... KU is one bad football team. South Dakota put up over 500 yds of offense on KU, so let's not get too excited about us doing the same thing as South Dakota did.

I will say this... we look like the most talented Iowa State team that I've seen in a while, but unfortunately no better coached IMO. Our offense still looks lost a lot of the time and not in sync. Playcalling still leaves a lot to be desired. Defensively we are obviously much improved over last year, but we played defense like a middle school team last year so that's not saying a whole lot. We'll see just how much improved we are starting this week with TT and the following week with TCU.

I'm tired of hearing about Katrina. Are we still cutting checks to those thieves?

So, we were incontinent for half the game against the hoks, and they beat us. Then, we were incontinent for half the game against the Rocketmen, and they beat us. You just can't afford to be incontinent that often or people will think you're crappy.

I see what you did there!

But that doesn't matter. The entire point is to score points and we don't do that good enough by any standards.

While I agree completely with your statement, I do see that there is at least potential, and skill enough on the offensive side of the ball to score more points. There have been a lot of years lately where you could see there was no chance to keep up. Way too many stupid mistakes, turnovers and missed FGs so far this year.

Still feel like 1 or 2 WR screens a game is enough to see if it will work. After that ISU is just wasting downs on plays that have as good a chance to be a pick 6 as a good play. Hopefully the coaching staff will see this soon.....

Young and inexperienced? Get outta here!

We are certainly better than last year and our defense is pretty good this year. But we aren't going anywhere fast with Paul leading the charge. Never will ever win more than 6 or 7. Probably 4 this year then he gone.

This team is better than I thought. I know we beat UNI (and should have) and beat a horrible Kansas team. But....
1. We are putting up some points this year.
2. We are doing some different stuff on offense, like formations and misdirection stuff.
3. Our defense is way better than we were last year.
I know we lost 2 games that we didnt want to lose, but the Hawks are tough this year and Toledo is better than first thought.
Just think how young and inexperienced we still are, we will only getting better and I expect us to knock a few off. I think we will be pretty darn good next year.
I think we harmfully measure success in wins, but this team has gotten a ton better from last year and from week 1. We are Iowa State guys, not Alabama!! we can't expect awesome years every year. Baby steps, baby steps. We ARE improved!!!

You are a hok troll. You and jahfg need to be outed.

1. We are putting up some points this year.

Other than Kansas - we've been really bad again and still. Which team have you been watching this year?

This team needs to put up some points and yards against ANY other B12 team to see how "good" we really are compared to our conference opponents.
