Had a small tire shop I used to go to where the old man would hand you whatever was in your tire when he got done and say “throw those in the street, good for business.”

I know the locations of the leaks are different but if it’s the same tire shop he may just not be noticing the leak for a while and he’s just dealing with a shrewd businessman.

I would like some feedback on a situation, mostly how to determine that this issue is a flaw with my spouse. He keeps driving over nails and I believe it must somehow be his fault.

April: Gets a nail in front right tire, has to be replaced
Last week: Gets a nail in left rear tire, has to be replaced. Replaced Monday.
TODAY: GETS A NAIL IN LEFT REAR TIRE, HAS TO BE REPLACED

Same car, same driver, different roads in use. The middle one happened an hour from home. Please give your feedback via poll or comments.

I will take questions.
I used to work at a place that was on a road that led to two scrap iron dealers. Needless to say, metal crap was falling off trucks and trailers all along that road and the flat tires were constant.

He isn't crossing a picket line is he?

Our company gave a large project to a non union company and with a union hall right down the road from our facility, they kept throwing hand fulls of screws and nails every couple days onto the entrance of our parking lot so all the employees, truck drivers, clients...anyone coming onto our lot ran over them. We had to clean them up for at least a month until they moved onto someone else.
We had a similar thing happen about 10 years ago at my work. Although, these guys took nails and bent them and welded them into little metal swastika-looking contraptions to ensure the nails protruded up enough to maximize damage to our semi tires.

I'll give this to them. They went through a lot of effort to be dickheads.

In my experience a lot of tire shops in DSM don't want to patch tires. It's almost like they make more money off of a new tire vs repairing it.
I love the Discount Tire in my neighborhood. I have repeatedly taken tires there for repair and THEY ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to take any payment. It paid off for them when I took my daughter's beater in and they pointed out that the front tires were getting dangerously bald. Those several free repairs paid off that day. This is how people used to do business.

When I used to bike into work about 15 miles one way once or twice a week the best route took me by all of the scrap yards. I would get a flat about once a month. It wasn't so bad in the evening but it really sucked in the morning especially if I had an early meeting.

Which show is that? Now I am intrigued...
It’s a tv show called “Nailed it.” It’s a cooking show on Netflix in the format of a lot of other cooking shows (I.e. contests are shown something impressive that they have to replicate for a panel of judges). The twist is that the contestants are average bakers so they always fail miserably. The title comes from the end of each round where the contestants have to display their creation while saying “Nailed it!”

It’s very silly, low stakes, and the contestants don’t take themselves seriously. If you like cooking shows (or think they can be a little too dramatic) it can be a fun watch. If you’re interested I would definitely suggest watching an episode or two.

The homemade caltrop is so effective for the simplicity. I bet the government pays a fair amount more than the bent nail version that's just as effective.

Earlier this year I somehow got a razor blade in my tire driving to work. The garage that replaced the tire told me it was his third razor blade in the last day. Still don't know if I drove through something someone intentionally set or if maybe someone dropped a box of blades. The hole was too big to repair.
HMM who might want you to buy tires? A TIRE SHOP!

The confusion between a nail and a screw in this thread made me think of how I am constantly correcting Mrs. Velo when she calls a bolt a screw. I mean we have gone over this many times and she is a smart woman.

I mean it is almost like she doesn't care...
As a fellow married man, I’m convinced when argument land here, she simply wants to piss you off.

My theory is DH is constructing a new wife in his spare time and has the unfortunate mishap of running over unaccounted nails/screws. Or possibly building Christmas toys for the kids. It’s definitely one of those two things.

If you really want to get rid of DH tamper with the brake lines don't mess around with nails in the tires.

No, she just isn’t paying attention to you. Wedding cake causes women to stop hearing lower sounds.
