Yes, this was the smartest move of the game by two seniors. They basically got a free timeout. Decided to go get the towels themselves... walked over to get them... walked back... scrubbed a little bit... then I remember one of them pointed to a spot as if to say "You missed a spot" and the other scrubbed a little bit more. We needed that breather.

Yes, they did seem awfully concerned about getting every drop of sweat wiped off the floor... glad to see such dedicated sportsmen in action! :pwink:

Naz made a heady move tonight. With 20 seconds left in the game, he and Georges took their sweet time mopping up the floor and got an extra 30 seconds to catch their breath and get G right.

Ya I was wondering how long the refs would let Niang pinpoint that little area that needed to be cleaned up. Hahaha good work for the ball boys who MAGICALLY disappeared.

I dont mind him starting. He earned it. Right now Matt is playing better all around basketball so i would not mind seeing Naz come off the bench. Either way.

I hope his problems are things that will get better with time rather than dwindle or get worse. A lot of those shots he makes with his eyes closed.

Sometimes you just have to realize it is not your night.

Love the confidence he has though and he will come out of this slump.

That's funny. I just watched this on replay, but didn't put two and two together and realize what they were doing. Good catch.

Does anyone else notice that when he turns the ball over he often looks to a teammate as if to say "that was your fault not mine"? Looks like he's putting a lot of pressure on himself, like he's trying so hard to "be the guy". Be the guy that everyone wants to take the last shot. Be the guy that gets the stop. Be the guy that everyone looks up to. For this team to be great, Naz doesn't have to be great. He just has to be good. We all know he can be that.

Rewatching the game, I loved how engaged Naz was in the second half even though the shots weren't falling. He was always engaged in the timeouts. He had some huge rebounds. Cool thing about Naz is no matter how many he misses it seems like he believes the next one is going down!

Anyone else wish that he took some games off to start the season? He hasn't been himself recently and it's well known he's not a 100%. I think he should, at the very least, take next game off. He needs time to recover.

Had the same conversation with my brother last night. He also doesn't appear to have the explosion to the hoop we saw in earlier games. Shooting is as much legs as anything else. Perhaps go back to every other day practices?

Unfortunately, he's also starting to make poor decisions with the ball, forcing passes. That may have to do with him pressing a bit because his shot is off.

I think he'll be fine as well, but one game in a week and against lesser competition will do wonders for everyone. Then we get Burton and it should ease up minutes all the way around.

He was off tonight; had some open looks and couldn't knock them down. We could have had the lead with 1.5 if he knocked it down.

I'm kinda more concerned about Nader; 13-minutes and 2 pts. I hope he keeps a good attitude and doesn't let this get in his head, but coach put him on the bench tonight for a reason
luv naz and Nader but they were awful last night

Don't assume he will be "fine". Spike Albrecht had the same surgery and has now stopped playing for the year, possibly. His surgery may have been a bit later, I believe.

The surgery he had was a big deal. The fact that he's playing as hard as he has been is amazing.

Long is not playing well at all on both sides of the ball. I don't know if it's his hip or what but you can tell his shot looks off and on d he doesn't seem to have the movement necessary to play good defense. He is always trying hard and hustling but he just doesn't have it yet. He was really rushed in the first half too and it led to some turnovers.

Not sure if anyone pointed this out but it seems to me he's fading a bit with his shot. Needs to go more straight up when he shoots. Fred on line one............
