Just passing along what we are hearing in the ND boards...

ND has looked absolutely awful in practices leading up to the game. I expect the defense to play well, but the loss of OC Chip Long seems like it may very well come into play.

After everything that I’ve learned about Iowa State over the past couple of weeks or so, I do not feel particularly good about the game. If the Iowa State OL can protect Purdy, and I think that that they’ll do enough, it does not bode well for ND.

I think that this is a game that ND should win, but I don’t see any evidence right now that ND is going to play well. I picked Iowa State to win 27-24 on the ND boards. I hope that I’m wrong.
I think most of appreciate your comments here quite a bit. However, we Cyclone fans have been through the ringer and aren’t going to put much stock in comments like that either. That is the exact thing someone would say to us then beat us by about 19 touchdowns. Not saying your not right but Around here we have nut cups with the cyclone logo on them for a reason.

Your DL worries me the most as our O-Line is consistent, but not necessarily dominating. Your pass defense isn't a concern even with your #3 ranking. ND held Michigan, Navy, BC and New Mexico to 134/79/63/151 passing, respectively. Those teams then rushed for 300/270/130/240. In those 4 games you gave up an average of 235 yds a game on the ground so passing wasn't probably a necessity (and does Navy ever pass :) ) We played Iowa (ranked 9th in pass defense), and Oklahoma (18th), and Purdy threw for a combined for 558 yds and 6 TD's.

USC would probably be your opponent that would mirror best to Iowa State. In that game you gave up 255 passing and 172 rushing. This is exactly what I see we are capable of doing tomorrow, which means to me this game is a toss-up. I like your prediction, but I see a 28-27 game, and pick either team for the winner.

That’s understandable. I think that ND should win the game, and it would not surprise me at all if it happens. I just think that ND is a dumpster fire right now.

Navy is always a statistical outlier because of the offense that they run. The Michigan game was in a monsoon, and they ran the ball down ND’s throat, so they didn’t need to pass.

ND was very unconventional against USC. USC has three amazing WRs and a good QB, so ND actually defended them in such a way to force USC to beat them on the ground, which is completely against conventional wisdom.

I don’t think that Iowa State has WRs like USC, but it wouldn’t surprise me if ND’s game plan will be to drop a bunch of guys into coverage and bank on being able to stop the run.

Oh you mean ESPN+? The thing you need to watch some of the ISU basketball games including the ISU vs KU game? I figured most isu fans would have that
You should just change your name to UNI1 and take out the Iowa State part of your profile pic lol. I haven't seen you post a single positive thing regarding Iowa State and actually it seems like you mostly go out of your way to take shots at Iowa State.

Ken, there are no P5 programs with the history of p!ssing away games...indeed seasons the way the Iowa State Cyclones have done through the years. Things always bode well for every ISU opponent (including FCS ones) until we prove otherwise.

I know you have already been called out for this but I am going to pile on why this was dumb.

1. Your are in the NFL section of ESPN, not their college football section
2. These are a list of draft eligible players.
3. Brock Purdy is not draft eligible since he is a true sophomore.
4. Trevor Lawrence was not listed either for the same reason as Purdy which I would have to think would be a glaring omission since we are discussing top quarterbacks in college football.

Maybe you should stick to sports betting.
