If NDSU is so gooooddddd, why not move into the FBS? Why don't you show us all up. I think that you need to get knocked off your high horse and realize Iowa State have 6-6 seasons because we are in one of the strongest conferences in the NATION! Now I would love to see you join the big 12 and brag about having a "winning tradition"....

Again, tried to politely say it before, they just can't do it to do it. Football grew rapidly, basketball has done well at making steps. Now other sports are seeing success at that level as well. But again, realize that just because football has done it "short term" doesn't mean they can just start applying to conferences. Location is an issue. The changing scope of the FBS makes a difference. I wouldn't see a realistic move for another 10 years at least! Unless a major change with the "Power 5" forces a mix in with the smaller not so successful FBS conferences and schools and bring in the bigger more successful FCS programs to make that new FCS or secondary D1 level or whatever, it can't realistically be done any time soon. Georgia Southern and App State will maybe be gauge markers as to how long were they FCS before going up, how did they do when they moved up, how long before they settled in financially. There is so much that goes into it. And again, NDSU, or even Northern Iowa for that matter, won't do it just to do it.

It still doesn't matter. A title at the highest division you can get to at that time is still impressive. NDSU has only been up for what 10 years? Have a three straight titles. It's not like they have been in that division for 50 years and finally won a title. They wouldn't be able to make a jump for another 10 years anyway, at the earliest. But within 5 years the landscape of the divisions is going to be so different that it won't matter. I don't get the fact that some fans think well were here so that makes us better. So there are teams that are FBS, guess what, they don't win. Don't win but 2-3 games a year, don't compete for conference titles for multiple decades in a row. Some are Basketball schools and don't have as strong as a football program. But if that's fine and being content just being there is what it's about then I am sure NDSU will pass. They would only move in future if they could sustain winning and being competitive to keep it's fan base and tradition.

Lakesbison, is that you?

You guys will never be seated at the adult table, and you're not even at the little kids table so to speak. Get back in the broom cupboard.

MSU was not good that year (6-6). Wisconsin was decent and they lost to OSU. So they had 2 good wins vs. Penn State and Wisconsin, and a bad loss to Northwestern. Not exactly knocking on the door of a BCS championship game birth considering they didn't win the conference.

Combined record of 4 B1G teams that Iowa played on the road in 2009? 38-14.

And being 9-0 and ranked 4th in the BCS until the starting QB goes down is knocking on the door.
