I guess we are showing our age because I was just about to start looking for a gif of this.

He has almost no coaching experience. Henderson has deep experience plus TJ as his biggest advocate.
Why would UNI be reaching out to TJ for help with its (hypothetical) coaching search?

I feel like I probably have a stronger connection to what would (again, hypothetically) happen at UNI...

Didn't the Cyclones once hire some guy by the name of Fred Hoiberg. He had ZERO coaching experience. Seemed to work out OK for ISU.

Seth Tuttle is the next head coach at UNI, fwiw.

Is that based on him being a UNI guy and he's less likely to leave you with success versus a hot coach who isn't "firmly entrenched" in Cedar Falls?

I figured UNI fans would love the change of pace to a modern offense and lots of 3 point shooting

You haven't watched enough UNI then.

Total offensive transformation over the last three years, actually led by Tuttle. Much more tempo, led The Valley in scoring this year and tempo has gone from the 350s to 170 this year. It isn't a grind it out slog anymore. Iowa State actually plays much slower than UNI does at this point.

Tuttle's the guy because he's proving himself to be a really good recruiter and has run UNIs offense for the last 3 years, including while he was technically video coordinator. He's the right guy. I don't know if Jake finds a job he wants (keep an eye on Northwestern if it opens) but Tuttle is eventually the guy here.

Oh, that’s why your defense has been increasingly poor and the program overall losing its identity the last several years? I had thought Jacobson had lost sight of who he/UNI are.

I wouldn’t say Iowa St was much slower than UNI this year. Although I could see TJ continuing to playing slowly for the Big 12 in order to win.

I think if we can get a couple of guys that can fill it up consistently, you’ll see things speed up. Without those pieces in place, we need to be methodical in our offense.

That will be tough. The Big 12 has become rather slow.

Totally different circumstances.

1) Long NBA career
2) Established career in the NBA front office after retirement from NBA

Everyone talks to everyone.
I guarantee that if it was a job Henderson wanted TJ would make several calls on his behalf.

If Henderson thought he could get the Panther gig, he would not be leaving. It is pretty well known that Seth is preferred as the guy that is next in line for the job.

All of these guys are from the McDermott tree and know each other well.
