I think VT's landing spot is entirely dependent on how far the SEC is willing to grow. The B1G is already at 18*(edit: I thought they had 20), and seems poised to go to as many as 24 with UVA, UNC, GT, Stanford, Cal, and FSU. Though ND will always get the priority if they ever relent to the Big 10 overtures.

Does the SEC want to go to 20? I would expect Clemson, Miami, Kansas, and NCSt/VT.

Whatever is left after that is entirely up to Yormark and the Big 12 to invite. We are at 16 now but lose Kansas. I suspect Yormark wants to grow a lot, especially with an eye on BBall. So shooting for at least 24, inviting Duke, Cuse, Louisville, Pitt, BC, Wake, SDSU, UCONN, and whoever doesn't get the call NCSt/VT. That leaves SMU as the only ACC leftover.
Oh I don't like the idea of losing Kansas.
