Coreys mask kinda sucks, I like Micks. Song wise its fine but nothing special. Seems like a safe song to release for general public. felt similar to wait and bleed.

Was anyone else at their show at Hilton in 2005? We made it all the way to the second or third row of bodies on the floor. I'll never forget the opening to that show with Corey standing up behind the giant white sheet. When his shadow appeared and the crowd went nuts...man, that was awesome.

I also remember being packed in so tight on the floor that I couldn't take a full breath in. I'd never want to do that again, but damn, it was fun when I was 20.

It's okay. It felt like it was about 70% Slipknot, 30% Stone Sour.

I thought the same thing. They have been releasing something really hard and then something Stone Sourish the last couple albums. Heard the rest of the Album is even harder than "Iowa". Ill wait and judge it on a whole. Coreys mask sucks. Actually like the new percussion guy's mask whomever it is.

So anyway. Slipknot, unless they have a song named Johnson on the new album is what we are talking about.

Anyone else going to the Fair to watch them?

I am. Pumped.

Side note: My wife surprised me with Tool tickets for my bday, so that's awesome too.

I want to go to Tool but I have been to so many concerts I don't want to pay for another. I have seen them several times and they are great. Maybe a boyfriend will break up with a girl and I will be her plus one since she needs someone to go with. It's a long shot.

My wife and I are going. I went to them 4 years or so ago in Cedar Rapids and was good but I'm really looking forward to this outside.

Not a fan of the music, but I appreciate a powerful local brand. Never seen them in person and only seen a few videos. Seems like a can't miss event.

Let me reminisce real quick...

My first concert was Mancow's Lazer Luau 2 in Ankeny. The set list was and still is fantastic:

Deadfront
Dope
Fear Factory
Loudmouth
Machine Head
Megadeth
Orgy
Painface
Slipknot
Static-X

What I remember the most, was there was a wrestling ring set-up away from the stages and people were mixing it pretty good. Anyway, this group of dudes wearing orange jump suits and masks...

...got up there at one point and started screwing around. I had previously seen them out walking around the with everyone else in the crowd, so I didn't think much of it really. Well, I thought best to keep my distance because "why tf were these dudes all dressed like this walking around"? I was only 16 at the time and hadn't been exposed to this type of "weirdo" before. Fast forward several hours and the dudes in orange jumpsuits were on stage because they were Slipknot. Pretty amazing experience.
