Oh, hey look, what do you know? The uniform threads is a-top the list of football thread... no way.

That neon McDonalds thing above me right now is awful, but I like it better than our current some how.

Absolutely agree with this. Conceptually those unis were stunning. The version used on the field, however, were quite terrible. Not to mention it was proven sometime last year that the "Jack Trice concept" was wrong - it was not a cardinal jersey with gold stripes, but a bright yellow jersey with gray stripes. As cool as the concept was, the whole thing became a dumpster fire (including the play on the field) and I would just prefer the idea be left in the past.

Agree. My daughter has a t-shirt version, and it looks awesome. But the unis, by the time they had the numbers on them, etc, looked awful. I'd be OK with it if they could make it look good on the field in modern equipment.

Maybe they could take the Trice stripes and make them into a shoulder patch or badge. Either on the outside of the shoulder, or else on top and replace the Trojan stripes.

Something like this, but upside down, correct colors etc. Sorry just grabbed this off the web, zero graphics skills.

i would like to see a nod to the actual 'cyclone' aspect of our name with something subtle and tonal like this. i think its kind of cool how the back panel of the basketball jerseys have that partial kind of element to where it makes sense but isnt a huge conflict with the branding identity their trying to stay true to.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Real cardinal, and real gold.

Of course, some will complain and say it's too much like Florida State or Boston College, but I won't. This is the direction we need to go in IMO.

It will never happen though. I think we're stuck with our current horrible yellow.

Could you expand your thoughts here. Don't recall where the throw back unis were poorly executed or presented.

You mean other than the fact that the "throwback" jersey was cardinal and gold when the Jack Trice jersey was actually gold and gray? That, and the white numbers on top of the gold strips made it look absolutely atrocious. Completely ruined the look.

Were the white numbers an NCAA rule of some sort? I thought I read that somewhere.

Yeah it seems like they got rid of the cardinal pants because we haven't seen them since what, 2011?

I think we haven't worn the cardinal pants since 2010, actually. I remember the first game with white pants was our first road game in 2011 @ UConn, and we never went back to cardinal. Not sure why that change was made.

No, "white numbers" are not an NCAA rule. The rule is full-sized numbers (whatever the size of them are) had to be on the front and they have to be distinguishable. And, instead of adjusting the stripe pattern to accommodate numbers, for instance, cutting the stripes such that there's a solid cardinal block to apply distinguishable gold numbers, they just slapped white numbers over the gold stripes. It looked absolutely terrible.

So you are saying you didn't like them?

They were a wonderful conceptualization, not the genuine article which most throwbacks tend to be. For purists I think the JT originals were made of wool too, and manufactured in Illinois, maybe that should of been put into the equation to satisfy absolutism fetish. Most liked the throwbacks as developed.
