Offers from ISU, Iowa, Texas A&M, Seton Hall, Boston College, Colorado, Miami, Maryland, Providence. (big schools of note)

We found him first and Freddy got him! I imagine him being a skilled 4 who can score from the post, with some nifty moves and good touch.

He doesn't rely on athleticism which will be a bit of a switch up from recent years.

I'm pretty sure it is 2012 guys.

According to his AAU coach Leo Papile, Tilton senior power forward Georges Niang of Methuen will attend Iowa State in the fall. The 6-foot-7, 235-pounder averaged 24 points and eight rebounds a game in leading Tilton to the NEPSAC Class AA title. Niang had received offers from BC, Providence, UMass, URI, George Mason, Miami, Maryland, Iowa, Texas A&M and Colorado before settling on the Cyclones.

Niang has been a vital part of the nationally-ranked BABC program, currently ranked No. 1 in the country in their respective age group. He is the second BABC player in recent memory to commit to Iowa State, the other being Will Blalock of East Boston High.

Haven't been able to speak directly with Georges yet but this sounds legit.

If it turns out to be true, this a major score for Hoiberg on the recruiting trail. Niang is one of Iowa State's one or two top targets for the class of 2012.

I have a church service that I have to attend tonight and I also have a 3 hour drive back to Ames but I'll do my best to get some confirmation before tomorrow.

that is great news, it will give us two kids from that Tilton powerhouse team. And for those wondering yes we are recruiting both Nerlehns Noel and Wayne Seldon from that team also. Noel will be a junior next year and Seldon a soph, both will be top10 players in their class. They will likely be a long shot for us, but if we can win some games the next two years we may have a chance.

Niang seems like a good pickup for us, he's not ranked as a top100 kid but he sure puts up the stats against big time competition.
