So? Did I reference some minimum recruiting ranking? The past two years we did not offer, or at least aggressively pursue a lot of high school guys that had the chance to be good Big 12 players. From reading Hines, we will see that change a bit going forward IMO. I would put NN, Babb, and Clark all in that group.

It is you that could not be so negative. Long term a change in recruiting could be good- don't be so insecure about it. There was a real risk behind almost exclusively whale hunting for the bulk of the recruiting season.
Yep, we will be going after more Custers.

Twocoach is informed and actually knows what he's talking about, just comes off very arrogant a lot of the time. Bode's style of trolling is totally different. He acts like he has no idea what is going on, simply to get a rise out of people. I don't mind twocoach most of the time, but this guy has to go.

I do. Just don't understand why he can't go play with his own kind. And he does come off as very arrogant.

Misinterpreted what you were trying to say I guess, my apologies.

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State men’s basketball program has announced the addition of Nick Babb, a transfer from Arkansas.

Babb, a 6-5 guard, played sparingly in 26 games as a freshman at Arkansas. He scored a career-high five points against Wake Forest and Georgia, while playing 4.8 minutes per game for the Razorbacks, who advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

The brother of former Cyclone and current Boston Celtic Chris Babb, Nick Babb prepped at Arlington Martin High School in Arlington, Texas. He was a Class 5A All-State honoree as a senior when he averaged 16 points, 8.4 rebounds and eight assists for the Warriors.

“We are excited to have Nick join our program,” assistant coach Cornell Mann said. “He’s not only a tremendous person, but a great teammate as well. Nick fits well with what we do with mismatches. He has the ability to defend and play at a high level athletically. Nick will be a guy that we can plug in at multiple spots.”

Babb was rated as the 17th-best player in the state of Texas by ESPN.com and No. 167 overall by 247sports.com.

Can we please, for the love of God, not compare him to his brother? Please?

Welcome aboard, Nick! I look forward to seeing the growth and contributions to the team!

So, just curious, wasn't this about two weeks ago news? Why is it in a printed article just today?

FWIW I went out to dinner with a former GA on the Arkansas basketball team tonight, naturally I asked him about Nick Babb. He echoed the same sentiments that have been said on this board about Arkansas's coaching staff being very upset about Babb transferring. They thought very highly of his potential and future and was "lighting it up in practice". He was stuck behind a lot of experienced guards as a frosh and this GA said Babb was expected to see some heavy PT as a soph, if not start.

Cool story bro, I know, but figured I'd share this for all the negative nancies out there.

Good to hear. Not going to take it as gospel but I will take it for what it is. Thanks for sharing.

That's good news. I hope he uses this year to work on his game and physically build his body. That's one of the reasons Chris was so good, IMO. He was strong and fast enough to defend multiple positions. He was also very good on the glass.

When you have a wing that can lock down the opponent's best wing scorer, and rebound, it's a really great asset to have.

Can't be true. According to CF if you aren't great as a freshman you never will be.

And according to the great Jimmy V. Don't ever give up, unless you take to heart the crap you Read on cyclone fanatic.

Good to hear. We could use a defense-first guard on the future roster.

Heck, he learns to shoot like his brother...

...and we've got a heck of a 3&D guy. That position/skill-set is invaluable for a modern pace'n'space offensive style that can still play good defense on the other end.
