This is got to be Harrison just messing with everyone. there is no way he wore ISU gear today by accident or because he was running late. He is doing what I would be doing..messing with everyone. Kind of like I use to do do once in awhile at work. Once every blue moon I would throw a Tie and a nice dress shirt on and count how many people ask me if I had an Interview somewhere.

Very interesting with Doug McD on Matt and Miller today. IF I were to go solely on that interview I would think Barnes was all but guaranteed a Cyclone. He kept saying that things were looking very good, the sweatshirt was a good sign and that Friday would be a fun day...

I'm sure Doug knows just as much as the rest of us do, nothing.

There's no way Harrison has told his friends, I'd be surprised if anyone outside of himself and his mom knew.

The thought that has been rattling around in my head, and this is purely from the limited observation of the recruitment of Harrison Barnes, through this site and articles on the HB.

I have a really good feeling that Coach McDermott handled this recruitment in the only way that could possibly lead to success. I think he encouraged Harrison to fully explore his options, to the point where he didn't even request that HB take an official visit to ISU so that he could add another school visit/experience to his decision making process. I think he has taken the role of a mentor and advisor, and kept the pressure extremely low. As I've said, this is probably all a speculation/ outside looking in kind of theory, but I feel like that's the way it was handled, in spectacularly patient fashion with the highest integrity, and I think it just may have been the perfect way to do it. Even if Barnes chooses to go elsewhere.

The hard to get approach, clever.

Just listened to Matt and Miller. Doug would like to see Barnes in a cyclone uniform. Everyone seems to be pretty optimistic about it.. Friday needs to come....now.

Maybe not "hard to get", but probably well-played. Let's be honest - McD didn't have a whole lot of selling to do. HB is a really unique situation being from Ames, familiar with the university, close to the team, friends with the coach's son, etc.

McD probably did they only thing he could do and that was be sincere and let HB decide for himself if ISU wasa good fit. When the customer knows the product so well, there is little room or need for salesmanship.

While it's very possible that Doug doesn't know anything for sure, I think it is a safe bet that he knows more about the situation than you or I... or Knownothing.

I agree. He had a unique opportunity that other coaches did not. His relationship with HB went far beyond potential coach and potential recruit. I believe he truly wants what is best for Harrison, and if that is at ISU, more power to him. If it is elsewhere, you know Mac is going to support him through and through, as we all should. (Unless of course he is at KU)
