There are no good losses. And this was against a mediocre unranked MVC team, which makes it worse than, say, losing to KU.

No its not the end of the season, but we've seen the cracks in the armor for multiple games now. This team is gonna struggle come conference time. They'll make the NCAA, which is what you're shooting for and we should be happy about as fans, but I would be shocked if they make a run at winning the Big XII.

lol. UNI will be ranked next week. How many teams can say they beat 2 top 5 teams? If UNI isn't ranked that's a tragedy.

Where is the world that you live in where shooting 60% from 3 on a lot of attempts is a "decent" level?

Im talking about teams that actually move without the ball. We got destroyed on off the ball screens vs Buffalo and pine bluff for wide open layups. I'm not talking about tonight, or UNI in general, as they always execute very well. If a big 12 team runs decent team offense we will have a tough time

Yeah, I noticed a few times the defense got beat with a cutter. And it appeared to be the result of double teaming and trying to help out and leaving the guy with out the ball open so that when he would get the ball, the defense was out of position.

The one thing really working in our favor is that UNI upset North Carolina (even if without Paige). It's not just a fluke. They are a solid team.

The loss still sucks.

UNI is a mediocre team that got hammered recently by New Mexico. This isn't a good loss. The overlooked kids from Iowa got their revenge. And now that it's over, we can move on.

UNI will contend for the Missouri Valley title with Wichita State. I think both of them will finish about 16-2. With 2 top 5 wins in the non-conf they will easily be in the NCAA tourney.

Certainly will be interesting to see if this pans out. 2 things you can always count on CF for after a loss, 1 group melting down, the other group telling us how good the opponent we just lost to is.

It's one thing to look at this loss and just toss it aside as a bad night, but this loss came after a string of games where we played the exact same way only to pull it out or away in the end. I'm not convinced that UNI is as bad as some think, but after the last couple of weeks, I'm also not convinced ISU is nearly as good as their ranking has been.

Sunshine pumpers pump all you want, if this team is as good as has been billed, no way should this game have even been that close, let alone a loss. And as I said, this isn't just a "OMG UNI BEAT US" reaction, this is based on watching an ISU team play this way time and time again, only to finally have it bite us in the ***.

Great teams lose. It happens. ISU is a great team that lost. They will bounce back, like they always do. Uni is a team playing it's super bowl and they get up for this game. We don't. It's ok. By b12 time, we will be ready, like we always are. Relax.

The loss of Naz makes us vulnerable in games like tonight. If Matt and Hallice aren't shooting well, we could struggle. The one thing that helped tonight was UNI couldn't guard Niang, McKay or Nader in the paint. The only other minor issue is we need to show better patience on office - took some ugly 3's early in the shot clock.

This team will only go as far as its defense. Dribble penetation has been killing the Clones, McKay needs to be more physical and we need to play better 3 point defense.

The good was Burton. He gives ISU a slasher who can finish at the rim and give ISU another rebounder.

So who is going to contend with them in the Valley besides Wichita State? You could tell last year that they were better than Iowa and then they went on to the 2nd round of the tourney. They look just as good this year although losing Tuttle hurt.

Some of you guys forget we lost to Texas Tech and South Carolina last year and UNI is far superior to both of those teams.

UNI will get votes, but I would be surprised if they are ranked. They (we, I will admit to being a dual fan) did lose to a not very good Colorado State team to open the season. I do think that even with road losses to Richmond and New Mexico (both good teams, no matter what some angry Cyclone fans think) an 8- 2 UNI team would be ranked, but that's purely hypothetical in this case.

As for ISU, tonight's game reminded me a bit of the home loss to Baylor last season when they got red-hot lava kind of hot from the three-point line and made five straight to win the game on our home court. UNI, specifically Jesperson, put on a similar kind of shooting performance tonight. Looking at the stats ISU played a pretty good game; the differences were UNI's perimeter shooting and all-time performances from both Washpun and Jesperson.

If we (ISU this time) lays a stinker and are non-competitive against Cincinnati Tuesday night, I'll start to get worried.

I feel this team will be playing at an elite level come March, but I agree that it will be shocking if they make a run at the regular season Big 12 title.

But I've felt that way since the day Hoiberg left.
