They might not be horrible, but they do have a losing record in conference. They are they type of team we are supposed to sweep. Splitting with teams that aren't horrible doesn't do us any good, and it doesn't matter how many game out of first 6th place is, it's still 6th place out of 10. That's not good.
Just statistics.
Lol...OK. Just because there is something unquantifiable about the outcome of close games doesn't mean it is always just luck. Sometimes yes. But I have watched enough sports to know that there are some teams that perform well or poorly in the clutch. Calling it "luck" is ******** IMO.
So your "Let's all support the team" mantra doesn't apply to McKay?

Then why doesn't "clutchness" follow players or coaches? If it was really something more than luck you would see certain teams consistently ranked high in that category, meaning they excelled in close games. What happened to guys like Niang and Monte who were part of that team that was great in close games two years ago but has struggled this year, did they suddenly lose their "clutch" gene?
McKay wouldn't have won this game for us.
The he team is trying. They are tired and make stupid mistakes.
You really think that the idea of a "clutch gene" is more plausible?
While I'm not as willing to throw these guys under the bus, I do agree with this. If we want to be a blueblood (ok, tuco, just stifle) then yes, we do need to sweep teams like TT. And OSU, and KSU, etc.
We're not there yet - we have 5 or 6 guys trying like hell to win games when they're outnumbered and dog-tired.
Yes, I have heard this same debate before numerous times. Guys don't really get in the zone, confidence of a team has nothing to do with it, its all just "luck". When a team gets hot it's just like getting hot at the craps table. Sorry, I don't buy that. It's a game played by people, and there are tons of factors that go in to how people or a person plays on any given night and any given situation that aren't quantifiable but are more than just luck.

You're too hung up on the use of the word Luck. Use a different word there if you prefer. It's just the term he used to explain the deviation in expected vs actual outcome. We are losing a lot of close games that in years past we won. That is all I was presenting, you seem to be taking it as I'm saying our losses are from some sort of "bad luck".
Lol good grief. Just stop with this nonsense.
You don't have to buy it, there are hundreds of DI teams that play dozens of games a season and for almost a couple decades those games have been closely charted and it is statistically proven that end game scenarios are essentially a crap shoot. You can argue til the cows come home, but I'm going to trust the numbers over your gut feeling.
Did you read what I wrote? I said "if we WANT to be". We aren't there yet, by any stretch of the imagination......but if we WANT to be there, then that's what we have to do.
And level 24 with over 6,000 points lol
