If I hear the "Gosh golly gee, Beav, we just need to keep supporting our team!" crap one more time, I'm going to barf.

Seriously. This is unacceptable. Losing to Texas Tech is unacceptable. Losing to UNI on a neutral court is unacceptable. Losing sizeable second half leads in multiple conference games, two of which were at home, is unacceptable.

This is a team which has the talent to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, and because of the incompetence of the coaching staff and the utter selfishness, immaturity and laziness of these entitled players, they'll be lucky to make it to Dayton.

Stop enabling failure. The only reason it continues at this school is because so many of you revel in it.

Glad to see there is still a bar in Ames that serves coin pints on Wednesday nights...now the question...where is this bar?

If you think this team, with the injuries to Naz and Ernst (he's not great but soaks up a few minutes in the paint to spell others) has the talent to make a deep run in the tourney then you have bigger problems than your apparent drinking one.

Now that, that there is some good ol' fashioned meltdown. Ya got your "Beav", barfing, acknowledgement of talent and finally, chastisment of the reader for reveling and enabling losing.
It's like cleansing the colon, a good blow out every once in a while feels good.
Well done sir.

It's been a hard season to watch, but we are one great possession away from winning in each of those seven losses. A steal and a layup, a defensive stop, or a critical shot going down for us. Sure, we can nitpick and say that some of those shouldn't have been that close, but you could make the argument that the presence of Naz (or McKay in this one) could have easily been the difference between a somewhat disappointing 17-7 and a really exciting 22-2 or better.

Hopefully Jameel can come back like his old self and they will rally through the end of the conference season and into the tournament.

The fact of the matter is we still lost to Texas ******* Tech and now will likely finish 6th in the conference. This team deserves every single bit of criticism they get

So what....OU lost at KState.....where we won. And KU lost at OkState.....where we won. Tech is above both those teams in the standings. Take your criticism and whining and go hang out with McKay.

We are one or two possessions away in each of these games from them being losses. Iowa, @OSU, OU, @Cincinnati. It goes both ways as well.

Ok, its clear you know a lot about immaturity, selfishness, and entitlement. You revel in it. Please, be sure and go tell OU losing at KState was unacceptable and KU losing at OkState was unacceptable. Especially since they weren't missing a starter when they lost...unacceptable. And while your at it, tell those two teams they have imcompetent coaches and lazy players, they both got beat by your incompetent ISU team.

i'm with you. i've b een a cyclone for soooo many years and this year was supposed to be "the year". confession- i need to unplug from basketball for awhile. last years tourney loss bothered me for too long and i get too upset with losing to teams we should never lose to or giving up leads and losing at home, and it hangs on into the next day. i don't like that. i think i want them to win more than they do- it seems as some of our guys play for the name on the back of the jersey instead of the one on the front. that stinks. the name on the front should be what gives them energy and toughness (play defense for the fans and school) instead they play for their name to show up in offensive stats, tv, and the paper.
i can't believe they still lose games like this one, over and over and over again. they lose when they aren't supposed too and still haven't beaten teams they "shouldn't".

That's what is so annoying about the loss. We played really well offensively for 35 minutes. There was absolutely no reason that game should've even been close. We can't even win games we play well in against marginal teams.

While true, for what it's worth we have a significantly negative Luck rating on Kenpom this year (314th ranking and 3rd worst of all top 25 teams). It would seem we have overall been more unlucky than lucky this year.

We shouldn't compare ourselves to OU and KU at this point. We aren't deep enough to close out games like those two are. There is a reason why we're 6th place in the league right now.

Is it really that hard for some of us to see what the problem is here? We lost to a team we shouldn't have and now we are in 6th place in the conference. Now it's going to take 3 miracle wins on the road to give us a chance to finish better than that. I'm getting really tired of the crowd who gets ****** off that others aren't happy after losses and call everyone haters, spoiled, or entitled just because they don't agree with them. It's ok to take the blinders off and analyze the situation for what it is once in a while. Nobody on the basketball team is going to have their feelings hurt.

These meltdown threads and this season is starting to smell like football season. That's scary.

Except, you know, not being anywhere NEAR as bad as football. Otherwise almost the exact same.

The difference in expected win percentage based on your efficiency numbers and your actual win percentage. Pretty much all evidence shows winning close games is more luck than skill. Two years ago we won a ton of close games and had one of the highest luck ratings in the country, last year we were were pretty much even, and on this year we're on the wrong side of that one. We've basically been the same team three years running, ranked between 18th and 21st in KenPom each year, our record in close games is the only difference.

Sounds like a fudge factor to me.
