No he didn’t. Giving his best after being hired and saying that he will do a good job =/= recommending him for the job.
According to Jamie he asked Fred who he should look at for a possible replacement. Fred said Prohm. Obviously, that was prior to any hire. Again believe what you want - I believe Pollard.

“So during our discussions,” Pollard said, “I said to Fred ‘OK, so if you leave, who’s out there that I ought to be thinking about?’ The first person out of his mouth was Steve Prohm.
Gee - isn’t that what I said. But, those who hate Prohm could not believe Fred the god could have said such a thing.

Pollard is going to say that though. Do either of these sounds like things a AD is going to say

"Fred rattled off a ton of names he liked and Prohm was like, the 8th at best."

"Fred said "**** that Steve Prohm guy, I hate his guts and he'll kill the program" So I went and hired him anyways."

And some of you are lemmings that will believe everything a person in power tells you despite evidence to the contrary. Like why the hell would T.J. come back from Washington after years of being groomed for a head coaching position to just have Fred say I really like this guy from the Ohio Valley. The narrative was created by Jamie to lessen the tension which was created by having T.J. Interviewed for the job and going in a different direction.

Something seems to be up with the team chemistry. We were not this bad early in the year. 2 years in a row this has been an issue

How would fred and Steve's world's have even overlapped? Id be kind of surprised if Fred knew who Steve was before he was a finalist. Murray state is small potatoes
As I understand it, Steve and Fred had been in contact prior to Fred leaving. I believe they had discussed offensive philosophy. I find it very funny that the only “fact” presented is a quote from Pollard that Fred suggested Prohm. Then the Prohm haters develop their own theories to explain why Jamie’s quote is incorrect. Guys - you can still hate a Steve even if Fred recommended him. Also, I imagine that it is possible (heaven forbid) that Fred was wrong.

Why would CFH recommend Prohm over T.J.? A guy who he barely knew versus a coach with strong ties to ISU and his lead assistant. Come on, try some critical thinking.

We were not this bad earlier in the year because we were playing a much easier schedule.
The Seton Hall win actually keeps looking better and better. They're currently #10. Not that it matters overall, but they're rolling right now. We'll have some winnable games coming up on our schedule. We've had a really tough schedule so far.

Yes, the Seton Hall win was very good. However, keep in mind they were out one of their top players for that game. Imagine if Haliburton or Bolton were out for a game ..... Cringe

I don't know. We played Michigan tough (yes, I know they've fallen off quite a bit) and played Seton Hall tough down in the Bahamas when they were at full strength. This just doesn't look like the same team.

You may be right. But I remember Greg stinking to a level not yet reached by CSP the whole time he was here. However this team resembles a McDumbass team so much it’s scary. I can see with the current trajectory how it could easily spiral into that 4 year abyss. It scares the hell out of me to think that. Maybe it won’t but there are plenty of things that concern me right now.

McD was closer to .500 in his awful seasons. I'll pretend that makes them better somehow.

Foster would have to enroll before we would be able to restrict him. He's free to go anywhere if he gets out of his LOI. See Darius McNeill.

True, but why would Prohm/ISU release Foster from his LOI? To be a good guy and then make an already difficult job even harder. If we would let Prohm leave, the new coach would want to keep him, so unless we have another Haluski type of set up, we should all plan on Foster playing for ISU next year.

it will be really funny when prohm leaves and 75% of the people on here think that’s going to happen.

I don’t think hardly anyone thinks CFH is coming back. But I would be surprised if TJ doesn’t come back if the opening occurs in the next three years.

That school history ranking is not legit, for propaganda reasons they started using the 247 rankings as the basis of history even though they were only around a handful of years when Lewis was signed. I followed recruiting closely then and he was considered a decent but not top level recruit. Prohm obviously has done a terrible job developing and utilizing him and yuh are spot on about that.

Uh, ok. Your scouting expertise notwithstanding, they obviously cribbed it straight from 24/7, for better or worse. As is obvious on its face, very few recruits in our history have been that highly rated, and had those kinds of high-level offers. The only guy with a better composite rating on the current roster is, somehow, Zion. As you agree & I agree, Prohm can't develop anybody. Period. In another thread, the only examples the sycophants could give were Hoiberg recruits Deonte f'ing Burton and Monte. Huh?

But if we didn’t whine what would you whine about?

Cool post, bruh.

Seriously though, you adult males whining incessantly about a college basketball team, most of the time with no facts, makes you all look like a bunch of crybaby pussies. Whaaahh

Whatever gets you through it, I guess.

******* nerds.
