Played well enough to win but didn't. We beat ourselves down the stretch.
You HAVE to draw something better than that garbage at the end up. That ball needs to hit Lipsey on a sprint. If KU executes there we don't even get a shot off because of the fouls to give. It looked like they were trying to foul Lipsey and the whistle was swallowed.

Needed some of those missed inside shots in the 1st half.
Close games like this reiterate the need for competent refs. One bad decision can cost a team the game.
Kind of wish we wouldnt have called TO there. Gave Self the opportunity to coach his team, potentially to foul before the shot.
Also don't understand why Kalscheur was roaming the baseline until the last 4 seconds. Waited to long to do something. Grill had difficulties breaking free all game long.

As the announcers said, lots of 50/50 situations that were about 70/30 today (like that Shoon block, missed rb, couldn't get a jump ball, KU gets a bucket with 2 seconds on shot clock)
Initially I thought he was trying to draw a foul,but on second look I think he just attempted the shot from a weird place and was trying to get more power on the shot.
Shooting an off balance deep 3 with 3.5 seconds left is not gonna win in the margins. Gotta know the time and didn't need a 3. Kind of a "Self"ish play from my view.

That stretch where we gave it away like 5 times in a row without getting a shot up, was very important. Not even caused by the opponent.
It's like there was a body swap for like 3 minutes real time with a group of junior high players.
Other than that, I think our guys have more heart than them. It may come in handy later.

The sloppy play where we kept turning it over late in the game cost us. Wasted several possessions not taking care of the ball or even getting a shot off.
