He can't /shouldn't wear ISU there. He is watching his son not evaluating right now it is a loophole that allows him to be there and wants to make sure it doesn't appear otherwise. He rarely wears ISU to watch his kids (I can't recall ever in the 5-6 times I have seen him)

You do realize that the Bulls are firing a coach who has not missed the playoffs, won about 50 or more games a season, and lost to Lebron in the playoffs despite all of the injuries they had this year. With Rose getting injured as much as he does Fred is going to have a ton of pressure from a huge market that expects wins now. Add to that he won't be around his family and will constantly be on the road adds up to a lot more pressure than at Iowa State where he will always have the support of fans. I mean Jesus, he might leave before the most successful season in history and people are still going to love him.

Fred needs to decide this week. Him not saying anything hurts Iowa State in the short and long term. It's not like this opportunity just suddenly presented itself.

I disagree. While this is painful for us, this won't hurt the program given the timing. Kids aren't deciding this week where they are going to school. Signing is done. If nothing else, if he decides to stay it may actually put some of this to rest. This is a great opportunity and if he turns it down, it may show recruits that he's here long term (although no ISU fan will believe it).

Yes. But if Fred doesn't have the same success that Thibs does what do you think the fan base reaction will be for a coach that they have no connection to?

By him not saying anything, even if he stays it has possibly hurt us in the transfer market. I have no information on this but it possibly hurt us with Harris. In the long term it only hurts if he leaves because, well we wont have Fred.

I don't think Fred will care what Chicago Fans think as much as letting down so many people he has known and loved his whole life at a place that has never won. He is our perceived chance our hope, someone that will win and stay. This is why JSB is feeling this way and others, it may be what keeps him here and it may be what drives him away. That is the pressure and it is a very unique one.

Being a team, town and fan bases long annointed saviour is a different kind of pressure. One few can handle. It is more than just another NBA coach. Fred is ISU he is our hope of the promised land. We are Cleveland and he is our Lebron. That is an enormous pressure because he wants it so bad. I am sure UAB was not easy.

The Iowa media and for the most part ISU fans are easy on Fred. The Bull's job is one of the biggest in the NBA. With pressure from the fans and media to win. Fred also has 100% control of his program in Ames. In the NBA that wont be the case.

I have felt like maybe Flip was holding the seat until he was ready. Just don't see the attraction of Chicago at all, aging team, interfering management, crazy entitled fans, tons of traffic, etc.

Agree. But Iowa State fans will be more hurt if he leaves than if he doesn't bring home an elite 8 or something else this year. I mean look at Orr, he is an idol here yet he didn't have a great record. But he stayed here and put Cyclone basketball on the map. Fred could make the NCAA tournament every other year and he would go down, if he's not already there as the greatest Cyclone (coach or player) ever.
