***Official 2015 NHL Playoff Thread***

The thing with Crawford is. Once you let an easy one on him, he's a head case. I remember when the Minnesota crowd was chanting his name, let in another easy one.

Yeah, he is a solid goalie, but just ugh sometimes. I don't think Darling is the savior or anything, but it's really frustrating not to have a great goalie behind the rest of the Hawks team.

These games are even more enjoyable to watch when Doc Emrick is calling them. Favorite announcer in any sport.

Home from work in time to catch the end of Ducks/Jets! Have to be back at 7 but I'm in it till the end. Who needs sleep anyways.

Not a huge Crawford hater like some Hawks fans, but I am pumped that Darling is starting. Watched him play a few games when he was on a junior team in Mason City. Crazy to think that was 9 years ago.

I don't think many are Crawford haters necessarily, he's obviously shown he's a guy who has the skills to contribute a cup. And there have been series where he's kept hawks in games single handedly. It just seems it's feast or famine with him. When he's up, he's way up there with the elite goalies in the league. When he's down.... he can single handedly lose games/series (See game 1 Nashville, or game 5 vs Phoenix a few years ago).

Right now he's in a rut, but a rut in the playoffs = benched. Can't give a guy time to work out of whatever issues he's hitting. Excited to see if Darling can match his game 1 performance. I sure hope so otherwise there will be a real goalie controversy in Chicago, lol.

Former Des Moines Buccaneer Kyle Okposo just scored for the Islanders.

Its been a while since I've heard anyone mention Mason City's old junior team. Was Darling there back when PK won the championship there?

Agree that you gotta go with the hot goalie in the playoffs. Funny though, the Kings stuck with Quick last year after he gave up 17 goals in first 3 games of the playoffs, and ended up winning the cup.

I was sitting in a bar last week and heard a guy tell his buddy Quick was the most overrated player in the NHL.

In the next breath he said he would take Crawford over any other goaltender in the league. I didn't even know what to say.

I think they were two different teams. PK coached for the North Iowa Huskies who were in the USHL. Darling played for the North Iowa Outlaws in the NAHL, a few years after the Huskies moved.

Funny enough though, Darling played in the Mason City the same time a different PK (Patrick Kane) was also in the league. Patrick Kane and Phil Kessel were on the US Development team which played in NAHL, and played in Mason City a few times I believe.

Yeah, I haven't heard outright hatred on here for Crawford, but there are some haters out there. I also don't think Darling is necessarily a better goalie, but he is motivated and hopefully this shakes Crawford into focus and not the other way around.

Gotcha. Thanks.

There's also a US development team that plays in the USHL. There used to be two. A 17U and and 18U. I don't recall when they merged or whatever. I never knew there was a team in the NAHL. I assume that's professional?

I'm an outright blackhawks hater being a Red Wings fan
Crawford has got something screwing with his mojo. Coach Q was probably hoping he could get back on track in game 2 but it seemed to just exacerbate the problem. Glad to see Darling was able to step up and get the job done.

Now if we can stop the bleeding in Detroit I would be happy. Think it's time for Jimmy to go back in net.

Anaheim keeps finding a way to score late. Can't imagine how frustrating it must be for Winnipeg organization and fans but sure as **** makes me happy :)
