.... In fact, between him, Buxton, and Berrios, if we look back 4-5 years we expected these guys to be cornerstones of the franchise. They're all still here, but i would say the results for all 3 have been underwhelming. Thank God we also had guys like Rosario, Kepler, and Polanco in the pipeline too.

With Kirilloff a year or two away, and Larnach at least two, it will be interesting to see what Falvey does with Rosario and maybe Buxton. I hope they extend both guys and use the up and comers to replace Cave and Wade.

I’ll be honest, I like me some Jake Cave.

I hope so too. Buxton is a guy who I hold out hope for especially. We've surely seen glimpses but between injuries and consistency issues really don't think he's lived up to his billing at all.

Cave is a great backup/4th OF. No idea what he aspires to be, but i guarantee Rosario and Buxton would say no to backup roles/contracts whereas I feel like the twins could retain cave fairly on the cheap.

Totally agree. Both of those guys SHOULD say no. They’ve proven they’re worth more

After this week we'll be half way through. What players have surprised (Dobnak) and who's disappointed (Berrios)? Top Twin WAR so far:

1) Cruz- as expected, team MVP
2) Dobnak- for 25, he pitches like a veteran
3) Maeda- trade is now looking great
4) Kepler- his average will only go up
5) Buxton- adding power to the speed
6) Duffey- Mr. 0.00
7) Rosario- emotional team leader
8) Arraez- breaking out of the early soph. slump

Polanco playing OK hitting .300 but his WAR is still not in the top 12 Twins. Sano and Garver join Berrios in top under achievers so far.

This team is built to do some damage in a shortened season like this.

I'm hoping we see a 1-2-3 first inning with Berrios tonight. At least with Jose, you don't have to wait long to see if he's on. He's obviously due.
He knows he has to pull his head out of his ass or he’s gonna make a lot less in his next contract.

As an aside I bought the mlb.tv to watch them on my phone this year. They constantly blacked out so it was terrible choice. However, I can listen every to Gladden and Cory and it has been incredibly enjoyable. I think it’s 20 bucks a year to listen through your device. Great deal for you die hards like me.
