I spent the weekend taking 4 grandkids in my tailgating bus to Big Creek State Park to play on the beach, sitting on the curb Saturday morning with my 2 year old granddaughter watching the Ankeny Summerfest parade go by, and working outside cutting all the lumber needed for a DIY Murphy bed construction project.

Glorious weather and a glorious weekend!

How do you like it? Wife has been wanting one but I like the crackle and smoke of a regular old firepit. Curious to hear your review.
I've had it a couple years and like it. Cuts the smoke down to almost nothing once you get it hot, which is nice for you not smelling like a firepit once you're done for the evening. Obviously it's portable which is nice. Makes good marshmallows for the kids. Got it free from work otherwise I'm not sure I would have paid for one.

Main watch out is length of firewood. I cut my own now but had issues previously with purchased firewood being a couple inches too long. Works best to keep fire below the ring.

With the contained design, heat will not be outward like a standard firepit so you end up sitting closer when it's actually cold out.

We've had one a couple years now and we like it a lot. You can still have some crackle and some smoke, particularly if you load it up with wood (as the other poster said, it's best at mitigating smoke with wood below the top).

The small-medium sized one has been decently priced at Costco but not sure if it's always stocked there. It's the perfect size for us, but I could see wanting a bigger one if you're not planning on moving much and if you have more people.
