Shaw has struggled his first 75ish at bats at every level he’s been to and then takes off. I’d anticipate a slow start here as well and then hopefully he figures it out.

That being said, a failure in Jed’s tenure is making sure our guys who need runway get runway, and Shaw is another example.

I have a feeling the Cubs will give him some runway to figure out MLB pitching as they have a lot invested into him at this point. I hope he adjusts because we don't really have a good plan B at 3B. If Smith and Paredes outperform him for Houston then the pitchforks will be coming for Jed. I never thought Paredes was much of an upgrade over Morel but Smith for Tucker trade basically is Jed putting his job on the line.
He started slow at Iowa to them took off. We’ll. Just have to see. Us old timers remember how Sandberg started as well.

Jed this offseason

“We want to add a top end starting pitcher”

Fail

“We want to add a high end reliever”

D, when you get your 6th option

“We want to add a large safety net for Shaw”

Fail
This is another 82 win team. All they've done is swap out Bellinger for Tucker. Other than that its the same players who have failed to make the playoffs over and over.

Hope I'm wrong but feel like Shaw is going to have major struggles at the plate. That batting stance is funky.

Feel its tough for a team and player to change what has always worked. IMO the Cubs will give Shaw 30 days to show he belongs. If he struggles, he will now have some MLB at-bats to figure out what he needs to change.

It's only a 4 game sample size, but Shaw doesn't look overwhelmed at the plate. So hoping with more MLB at-bats he'll get steadily better. My bigger concern is his ability to play 3B. He's serviceable, but doesn't look like he has the arm strength to be up quarter defensive 3rd baseman.

What an "interesting" front office. I love the Cubs but if I'm a player, I'd want out as fast as possible. Clown show. Poteet was introduced at the I-Cub game last night.

I agree on the bold.

David Robertson is still a free agent. Not saying he would be any better or not but if Pressly continues to suck it makes you wonder
1.111 whip last year I’d say hell yes.

Palencia was consistently in the zone this spring and tops out at 102. Not sure why you wouldn’t give him a shot?
