My issue with that: There is zero ******* chance that ump saw his hand “come off the bag”. He clearly beat the throw so should’ve been called safe on the field. Then they get to use the “not enough to overturn” excuse and you’re just dealt with a stupid call that has a major impact on the game.

I really don’t care. Just with his speed alone he gives you an infinitely better chance to score a run. Maybe he draws a walk. Maybe he gets an infield single. In either case you can almost guarantee him then getting to second. But instead we get to watch Turners ancient *** pop out to Cf.
they know they have the best fan base in baseball. And they are taking advantage of them in every way.
You shouldn't be able to say call stands in a play like that. It's either a confirmed out albeit for another reason or overturned. The ump was obviously incorrect in what they saw so why are we just defering to initial call in that scenario? It's 3-3 if that calls overturned.
If I was in charge of any pro sport, I would immediately fix replay by putting three former officials in a replay center, and whatever the majority thinks is the correct call is what is ruled.
I’ve long thought that “play stands” is the biggest cop out in officiating. I’ve umped plenty of baseball and getting into HS football this fall and a large amount of officiating is an educated guess for lack of better words. The amount of 50/50 calls that the ref/ump clearly guessed on but then after review say “not enough evidence to overturn” is just moronic to me.
I’m torn on this. The “indisputable evidence” is clearly a good faith effort to have some sort of standard of proof. Unfortunately it’s never going to be perfect.

Yeah, his 3 hits, zero walks and and 13 strikeouts in the 33 AB he has had in the month of August earned him a leadoff spot in the 9th inning down a run.
This offense is dead. It’s time for Caissie or MoBaller. Show a little urgency. PCA is absolutely worthless right now and his body language is worse. Happs “hot streak” has been limited to mostly singles and a dong. Tucker needs to breath.
I think I’d rather get Schwarber next year and with the savings sign a righty ace, maybe one from Milwaukee. Then platoon Caissie in the OF taking most of his ABs from Happ. Maybe that convinces Ian to waive the NTC if not his ABs get cut in half and he becomes a PH/ Defensive replacement primarily.
He's in a funk and is still 8th in the NL in OPS and 2nd in the NL in offensive WAR and 4th in WAR overall in the NL.
Yes, the key to helping a struggling offense is to pull up two guys with a combined 20 career plate appearances.
Look, I'm real frustrated right now too but this team still has the 3rd best record in baseball and we wouldn't even be having these discussions if the Brewers weren't unconscious right now.
Agree Not sure who you’d want to part with off the bench. McGuire has been great plus Amaya is almost back. Turner is hitting finally. Castro ok but that seems pretty drastic. Berti, yes but he has value off the bench even though he’s not hitting. If you bring someone up to take ABs from one of our Outfielders you lose a lot of versatility to make moves at the end of the game.
McGuire goes when Amaya gets back but otherwise, with Castro, that's a perfectly cromulent bench. You can do WAY worse than John Berti as your 26th man. It's like people have completely blocked out the Madrigal and Mastrobuoni years.
