More than Lard? He definitely has a better looking shot and at times can defend better in some ways other than shot blocking. Probably gets the rebound he needs to get better where Lard maybe gets the sky for it rebound. They both have a ton of upside still I think.

Than Bookie from KU. That dude's a beast and awful matchip but (again, hot take) SY has an underrated game.

Lard's a different player which is great for this roster.

I think the 15 fouls of Lard/Young/Jacobson would easily have handled even a good performance by him had he played in a game we dominated otherwise.

They are a smaller and less athletic perimeter team than ISU, smaller even when Wigginton was in. When it was Shayok-Hal-NWB we dwarfed them.

They have speed edge on our backcourt and wings, but we have a TON more size, leaping ability and length 1-3 than they do and that has nothing to do with their guy who was out.

Yeah the talent disparity on full display isn't that great between the teams. KU missed shots but if they made them ISU still likely wins.

Another Hot take (this is fun!): don't sleep on Conditt. Him rim running in Lawrence is fun to think about.

I am not sure I am buying the whole "It would have been different with Azibuke" narrative.

If he had played, I think each team would have scored another dozen points. Them, inside and us with our guards running more circles around them. I mean, he wasn't going to be out there covering our wide open threes any better than their guards.

Suppose we will find out in a few weeks.

Self is way less annoying that Deputy Dog used to be. He's going all out ISU appreciation post game where Williams would have painted us as the worst team the nation and that KU only lost because they played their absolute worst game every time ISU beat them (including the 5 straight).

We barely even played Young, if he came in and was dominating Young would have come in specifically to rough him up a little.

They very well may handle us in Lawrence or in the B12T, but today there was no way ISU wasn't winning this thing.

I only see him affecting rebounding but ISU could have gotten him to foul.

It really is unprecedented depth. We had guys who have proven they can contribute where there just weren't minutes for when you're trying to lock up a win vs #5 KU.

I cannot remember a KU game where we had a guy like Solomon or even Talley available and didn't need him because the matchups of an 8 man rotation were working so well.

Every time I watch a game live without checking the box, I'll be surprised at his box score. It's incredibly unpredictable but one or two stats will always be high. Today it was five assists that stood out but not many points/rebounds. Another game it's blocks or steals, and then some he does get the points and boards.

We've had a lot of unique players but he's going to be pretty unique.

Even if he's off, he's legit at getting to the hoop which makes many others available. KU looked locked in on him. Good.

As I always say, boy do teams look good when they shoot the ball well. Nice win, enjoy it and get back to work, because the next game on the road the defense is most likely the thing that gets the win. Not that they played bad defense tonight, but have two guys combining for 9 for 10 from 3 pointers sure makes it look easy.

He is what Diante Garett could have been with 4 years of good coaching

That's the best comparison physically for sure. I think he has a knack for the ball though, that's what reminds me of Monte. Doesn't look strong enough as a true freshman just like MM but somehow just an instinctive knack for the ball.

Imagine if they hadn't laid bricks the first five minutes of the game!

You can basically fall asleep on conditt this year. That’s just how it’s going to be. One for the future.

I'd like to think Lard is going to be here and improving on and off the court, but if not and we're in a game with lots of fouling down low...that's where Conditt's value is this conference season if I'm being a realist.
