OU, Okie State, and Tech to announce a move to the Pac 12 very soon....

It may be crap but it's not out of the realm of possibility. I'ver seen multiple stupid scenarios on this board. This may be wrong but it's at least possible.

Like I said yesterday, the TV Networks are going to force the Big XII to find another team pretty soon or the TV deal we just signed with Fox is in jeopardy.

After reading many of the posts, it seems to me that Texas is really the issue. They want everything their way, want to share very little and threaten leaving if they do not get their way. Maybe we shoud just let them leave.
If we get rid of Texas, and agree to having an equitable format for everyone, ala the Big Ten, maybe we could convince BYU, Boise State, Arkansas, Air Force, New Mexico etc to join for a 12 team conferance. Yes there will be stronger teams than others, but it could work. Oklahoma could still have great chances of winning the conferance so it would be an advantage for them. I know Boise State just changed conferances but they might be convinced especially if they could complete for an automatic qualifying position. The more that everyone gives in to Texas, especially places like Missouri and the Oklahoma schools and Texas Tech the more bold and demanding Texas became. Let them go fight their battles on their own. If we could keep Tech, and Baylor in the conferance then their would still be Texas trips and Texas publicity. What would really be great would be to have the entire conferance agree not to play Texas in any sport, that would increase some of their costs and cause them to travel away from their fan base.. I know this would not happen but sometimes it may be better to let the bully just go play by himself.

This one deserves a fractal facepalm...one where you zoom in on a facepalm only to reveal more facepalms...

No one is saying that this isn't possible. It's certainly possible, and IMO the likely route for those schools if the Big 12 doesn't find a replacement.

I just don't see them bailing at this point. All indications suggest they'd rather be in a strengthened Big 12 than the Pac. Otherwise they would have jumped last year.

Pretty sure that TAM wasn't leaving the big 12 last year either. Its not if anymore its when the big 12 falls apart, OU holds all the cards right now....

I agree. If OU wants to rebuild the Big 12, and the public indicators suggest this, it will stay as long as they find satisfactory schools.

If they can't find schools they want in the Big 12 to join, I think they'll do what you're suggesting. I just don't believe for one second that it's a done deal. Is it their contingency plan? Absolutely. However, that spot will ALWAYS be waiting for them. Right now, OU has more incentive to rebuild the Big 12, and I think they will try and do that. If they can't, they'll do exactly what you suggested.

I agree. OU has stated that again and again and rather emphatically. I don't think that their statements have been posturing, but rather up front.

Bingo... people need to keep in mind that reports have indicated that the OU president and AD are the two leaders who are coming up with the main ideas being followed for Big XII expansion. I find it hard to believe that the 2 guys leading the charge for Big XII expansion are secretly agreeing to join the Pac 12 and kill the Big XII.

:biglaugh: Good one. "Inside sources" are a dime a dozen right now. He says he's "the messenger", some sort of proof should be offered up by him to back that up.

OU is in the driver's seat. They want a strong B12 but if we can't get the right teams they will bail. I hope the expansion goes well or it will become a contraction in a NY minute.

Wow, sorry for using the wrong words on this site like source and insider

Let me try this again, rumblings in the Sooner nation are that boosters are getting fed up with this crap and want the administrators to make a move soon, they want the big 12 to work but the list of potential candidates to replace A&M is getting shorter and shorter. Don't forget A&M isn't the only school that is fed up with Texas and its ESPN brother, while T&M couldn't take the conference down by itself OU can....

I will try to work on my use of outlawed words on this site

This crap will stick.... No link just an inside source...

And is this your "inside source":

Quoted from: BYU to the Big 12? Maybe. ESPN is Reportedly Involved in Discussions | The Big Lead

"Kirk Bohls of the Statesmen, a veteran newspaper guy who I don’t think has broken a story in conference realignment, but often tosses up wacky scenarios, floated this one last night: Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State are Pac 12-bound, which would create a Pac-16 beast that yes, would rival the SEC."

You have no idea what you are talking about and you lost all credibility when you looked to Boomer to confirm your point.

That is MUCH different than your original statement and this is all known information. You don't need a source or insider information to post this.
