I think the thing about Iowa State recruiting that drives me most batty is not going hard after kids in Missouri. They have some good talent and only one team U of M in state. Never understood why we never go after Kansas City kids when it's 3 hours down the road and they have talent down there. Also, why don't we go after an AAU coach with some young talent that he can coach in a few years and get a few prized recruits like every other school in the country tries to do. oh well

we've tried that, we're just not that good at it.

TJ (got us brackins)
Nick Irvin (got us nothing in chicago)
Lefty Moore (cheated and we couldn't recruit Jok).

In all the years I can remember going after very few KC kids even when they had some good ones. It's just seemed odd. We always go after Minneapolis and yes I know they seem to produce more D1 talent. Just odd that we don't even give it a shot down there. There have been a ton of kids that have gone to D1

I think our staff needs production faster than what Epperson would likely give you.

He may have a high ceiling, but probably not ready to help much for 1-2 years.

Mamukelashvili>Epperson.. this kid has fewer offers, lower level offers, and looks like he could contribute right away. No idea about his recruitment other than what you can find at 247 though. Maloukelashvili, I mean Mamukelashvili is Hungarian.

Not to stir the pot or anything, of course.

Nice 3P shot in the highlights, but he looks more like 6'6" to me.

Not sure this is real news but Prohm guess Prohm has a specific target in mind for 2017. Yenta? Epperson? New target?

@TravisHines21 Prohm says on his radio show there may be one more prep big in the 2017 recruiting class, but otherwise it'll be a juco/transfer.

Fair point. I just saw his numbers and gathered he was a good player. Didn't really dive too deep.

I think you're probably right, although my definition of good player probably differs quite a bit from others on here. We've gotten great players from bad teams before (Uncle Jake and Nader).

Bol would get a lot more interest now since he's proven to be effective at another level.

The problem is I'm not sure he'd be much more advanced than Solomon this year, and may even be battling Solomon for minutes. Juco bigs aren't really much different than HS bigs -- you either get a stud or you get a guy that you have to develop. And at ISU's level of basketball, we shouldn't be in the business of developing Jucos.

True, but we also shouldn't be in the business of not having a complete void on the roster and/or rim protection. He may need some development but the sad reality is even a guy like Bol could help us this year imo. So could another Juco.
