Staff sill doesn't like any of them enough to offer yet though. I think it is extremely hard to tell really what you are getting with JUCO players.

On these guys it definitely can be a fine line between getting a mismatch, or even just an effective garbage man, vs getting a tweener with no position. Given we don't have much in the frontcourt and a lot of available scholarships, it seems worth the risk to take a guy that's 6'6" and 230 with a great motor with some ability to handle. I'm a bigger fan of Juiston and his slightly better length and athleticism, but wouldn't object to landing both.

oh i agree, i'll take all the tough juco kids we can find. i love those kind of players. but a <60% ft shooter annoys me.

Thornton also getting interest from West Virginia.

Thornton would be a nice addition. They should get Davenport for his hair alone.

Sorry if this has been posted recently, but here's Kyvon Davenport highlights from a JUCO game. He looks pretty solid to me, although the other team looks terrible, and small. Seems like he'd be an athletic hustle guy , with some offensive ability if nothing else.

The great thing about those highlights is that they're all from the same game.

They're not difference makers on a young team like next year, but a lot of these jucos can help a Big 12 team imo. It is too bad some o

I can also see Prohm maybe wanting to wait as long as he can because there will be firings and there may be kids they can pick up from those teams. Guys I can think of off the top of my head who may be gone, Groce, Pearl, Gottfried, Jones, Romar, the Clemson coach, I was going to say Howland but he will probably get one more year.

From the little that I've seen, Juiston and Davenport, look much better than any of the Jucos we recruited last year (Arlando Cook).

Shakur really starting to get attention... looking like an ISU priority.

@adamzagoria Illinois and Oklahoma have been in recently at Hutch to see 2017 wing Shakur Juiston. Steve Prohm coming back Tuesday.

I think I'm most excited about this kid. Seems like a perfect fit for us, and for him. OU seems to have about 5 young wings. We have maybe two and one coming in?

yeah, prohm said he prefers non-gamedays so he and the staff can really show them around. hard to "sell" a program if you're focused on an upcoming game and not the recruit.
They still have Sunday or Friday if it is a Saturday GameDay don't they.

Maybe this has been mentioned but this is only his 2nd year of organized bball, could be just scratching the surface of what he can do...

"MGCCC: As a freshman, named to All-Region 23 Team and All-MACJC South Division First Team … High School: Cole-Johnson's freshman season at MGCCC was his first year of organized basketball."

Could not play any of those Davion videos. So what's his game? Strengths, etc?

I hope we pass on Davion Cole-Johnson. He just seems like he's a great athlete. I think it would be better if we waited for a high-scoring grad transfer wing to fill that spot

Yetna possibly taking an official visit for ISU's last home game!

Here's Halsted's tweets.
I've been curious when the staff would get him to campus.

@AlexHalsted 2017 priority Alexis Yetna tells @CycloneAlert247 he could take an Iowa State official visit for the season finale: bit.ly/2kFkG3x

@AlexHalsted I'll post an in-depth story with Yetna and his coach soon, but this is a quick update on his plans. The trip for next week isn't finalized.
