Prohm isn't resting after the OT win in Lubbock.

@AlexHalsted Steve Prohm will go see JUCO forward Shakur Juiston tomorrow in Kansas, his coach said. @AdamZagoria has mentioned that before.

@AlexHalsted Main interest has been from Iowa State, Illinois, Rhode Island and most recently Oklahoma. Here's Shakur's profile: bit.ly/2lAMtkO

It's JuCo recruiting week for ISU. Steve Prohm expected to see Shakur Juiston (Hutchinson, KS), De'Quan Lake (IWCC) & Daryl Edwards (NW Fla)

Really, really crossing my fingers for Juiston. He just sounds like the multi-dimensional player that could really make all the difference on a young but talented team.

Interesting that they are looking at another guard. Edwards is shooting over 50% from 3 for the season. 6'4 SG.

Barring unforeseen circumstances I think they get Yetna. Which leaves 2 spots for sure but wouldn't be shocked to see 3 spots even after that bc of a transfer.

Wasn't there somebody that posted on this board that went to see Indian Hills at IWCC? He was actually commenting on Ernst's game, something about mostly getting dunks off other's play, etc. Just wondering if that same poster happened to notice much about De'Quan Lake. And, obviously, Donovan would know some about him. Just wondering if he'd be ready to contribute? Prohm wouldn't offer a juco if he couldn't help the first year, I wouldn't think. But who knows?
Still hoping for that grad transfer big, but they're sought after like flies on a cow pie.

The more I hear of these JuCo bigs, the more I feel like I will be okay with any of them. But, obviously, this is based on minimal views of their game and only hear-say

We'll definitely need a three point threat. Maybe they're thinking with someone like Juiston paired with Young, with Lard and Kasongo backing them up (possibly Carter too if he gets serious and wants to stay), we'll be good enough in the front court to allow for adding some more help in the backcourt?

Juiston to me looks like he would be a really good reserve small 4. He rebounds, can drive and looks like he plays hard.

Well, going mainly on rumor, I think both have the size and ability to contribute. If someone can reach them and get them on point, it would be Coach Prohm based on the way he's managed that kind of thing the last two years.

I think both have the size but that's about it.

Perhaps. I usually withhold judgement until I see it on the floor. I haven't seen clip one of Kasongo, and Carter looked serviceable last year in place of McKay. Not great, but he did okay as a freshman being thrown into the fire.

Carter didn't play in place of McKay. Carter played a total of 8 minutes in those two games McKay was out and had 2 points and 0 rebounds 0 blocks 0 assists. Carter couldn't make it on the floor when Prohm was basically pleading for one of the bigs to contribute this year. It's his second year in the program and he doesn't play. If there was some indication of improvement from year 1 to year 2 I would agree with you but so far there hasn't been any.

Kasongo didn't do much at JUCO or Tennessee and reports are that he is doing about the same so far this year. I believe he also attended prep school so I think he is 22 this year. I dont' think there is much hope for him. At most he could maybe be like Holden and give them a couple minutes a game.

It does seem unlikely that he will suddenly get it, but Prohm seems more than willing to let a guy sit regardless of ability if he's not seeing what he wants to see. Carter's three game suspension, at a critical time, may have sealed the door to the dog house for this year barring the light undeniably coming on.
