Doubt Pitino is getting let go yet, not sure there are any better options to take the job if he is fired at this point. The latest 3 player suspension could lead to some defectons along with a new AD could lead to a change in his RP's security soon. I want RP to stay though with the recruits in Minny ISU is targeting the next few years so Prohm can create some in roads.

I'd prefer to have Coffey look at the dumpster fire of the program, poor faciliites, loss of fan support (I live in Mpls and just had a discussion with a season ticket holder not renewing next year just yesterday) and potential of lil Pitino being fired over during his time at the U of M leading to him reopening his recruitment. Amir is a legacy local recruit and the main reason wanted to stay home so it probably isn't likely.

I think this is the main thing holding up the show in Minny at this point. Nothing is going to change there until they get somebody hired to get that athletic department under control.

Id love to see Amir decommit when Pitino is fired.
I'm afraid it wouldn't matter. I think the only reason he was considering ISU was because of Hoiberg's relationship with his dad. I guess Royce White probably helps a bit also as he is a basketball legend at Amir's HS.

He will wisen up after spending a year in the dumpster fire and transfer to ISU with 4 years to play 3

I realize this is a 2018 prospect. Staff is really putting in the hours especially considering it is March.

@Ontheradarhoops Iowa State will be in to see 2018 forward Isaiah Kelly @Isaiahkelly_ of Pace Academy (GA)

Anyone know if we are interested in Nathan Reuvers. Not ranked per Rivals but just got a Minnesota offer and already has a Wisconsin offer.

Rivals updated their Top 150 today. Names of guys we've been in contact with that I recognized:

64. Collin Sexton
94. Darius Perry
150. McKinley Wright

All of these guys are point guards. Sexton knows Monte, which I would think helps us. Wright has been a main target of the staff. Who else am I missing?

Are we recruiting Devonte Lane from ICW anymore?

I honestly hope not. He and McCaffrey looked far from D1 talents yesterday in the state tournament. Undersized and not spectacularly athletic, and didn't even look at the rim anywhere outside 5 feet. Kinda wondering what Hoiberg saw.

I don't think you can go by that one game. But, I have no reason to disagree with you, either. Thought he looked like a quick kid that could develop into a Washpun type.

Neither Lane or McCaffrey look like D1 players IMO. I guess at least McCaffrey has some height to him, he just isn't that skilled.

I wouldn't want either one personally.

You can make fun of him all you want. I don't see anything wrong with stepping into the pass from the ref and shooting a jumper. If you can replicate the shot, who cares? There isn't a right and wrong way to shoot a free throw. If you make it who gives a damn. Rick Barry for example...

Actually jumping and away is horrible form, but fortunately a good coach can fix that.

You aren't wrong, it was weird that they included it in his highlight reel. Bad FT form aside, for a 6'10 kid, he looks to have a pretty solid game. Very versatile.

Didn't say it wasn't, but you if you are doing the same thing every time, it doesn't matter. Would you fix his free throw form if he is shooting 90% from the line? Don't say yes because I will throw my head back in laughter. What people consider good shooting form just happens to be the easiest to replicate time after time but doesn't mean it is the right way for every guy that sets foot on a basketball court. It's all about repetition.

Not matter how many times you repeat something wrong it's still wrong. Don't hurt your neck.

Mccaffery did nothing. Lane looked far better than he did. Not sure there was any d1 talent in that game. Some good players, but not great.
