Tandy had kind of an odd recruitment.

Good luck to him, though -- Xavier is a good program, big pickup for Travis Steele as a new coach, and Cincinnati can be a surprisingly fun city.

Ah, wonder what happened there.

Strangy enough. I know this. Ole Miss has two schollarships left. They are saving them for DJ Jeffries and Watkins. They think they can pull Jeffries away from Memphis. Ole Miss has backup plans in place if neither commit to them so they were not concerned with losing Tandy and let him know he was a backup plan.

Averaged 9, 3, and 3 as a freshmen at Indian Hills. 39.4% from three (137 attempts) and 89.3% from the line (50-56). He's a lanky lefty (6'5") that seems to be sort of a combo guard. He's got a nice stroke from deep and is pretty smooth handling the ball. Doesn't seem like a plus athlete but looks like a guy who can be knock down shooter imo. Link to tape below.

I will be watching some 2019 and 2020 recruits tomorrow in Missouri. Couple 5 stars, one is being recruited by Iowa State and some late bloomers for 2019. Should be pretty good time.

Way up there

Tough to find much info on him but it looks like ISU may be the only school looking right now. He's from Italy but played HS ball at prep school in Florida. He and the French kid are intriguing. Right now, it seems like a grad transfer guard would be the best replacement if LW goes pro but if Lewis and Haliburton show promise this year, maybe the staff will be content with one of these two.

Given the players we seem to be targeting for the spring here, I imagine the goal is to find an adequate replacement for Lindell Wigginton.

Obviously, that will be a tough act to follow, but good that they are working early on having some experience at the PG/SG position to replace him.

They may already have that covered with Nixon.

I’m pretty sure that an as as-yet-unsigned five star would be the best replacement if LW goes pro.

Barring any still being unsigned (or released from their LOI), we can talk about what’s next best.

True, but Nixon is going to be a one-and-done.

Wigginton would be a junior while Nixon is a senior.

There is still an extra gap year there, if you are looking that far ahead.

I don't think Nixon will replace Wigginton's scoring. Seems like a balanced, hard nosed guard, but not really a big scorer. We will definitely need somebody who can fill it up.

A interview with Clarence Nadolny, His assr. coach has high praise, understandably, for the kid.

"Frenchie was always one big play away from breaking the game wide open," said Alex Arias, an assistant under Kenny Gillion on that nationally ranked West Oaks team.

"He was a competitive spirit who never stopped. He was the best combination of speed, hops, and a deep ball threat I've ever encountered in any point guard I've had the honor to coach.

It may be me just reading that wrong, but aren't those quotes about "Frenchy" Francisco?

Yeah but he's comparing Clarence to him.

"Beyond his aerial game, Nadolny will lean on a playmaking acumen quite similar to another guard of the same neighborhood and nickname: former West Oaks guard Sylvain "Frenchie" Francisco."

Glad you clarified there, or I might have thought you were getting ready to talk about a "frog" names Callum.
