People need to get over getting Custer and Tsalporous minutes, it's not happening this year those guys are too far off, we have 8 guys ready; Niang, BDJ, Naz, Hogue, Morris, MkKay, Thomas, Nader, and situationally #9 Edozie, Hoiberg will not go any deeper.

It is not only about this year IMO. If they are not ready to get more than walk-on minutes in this time of year, they are far off from being Big 12 players at the level we are trying to get to IMO. Yes, we have 8 or 9 guys ready, only one of which is a pg. Tsalmpouris has a lot of guys in front of him that could skew the apparent readiness, or lack thereof.

Help, please.

I live in Chicago, but the game is Mediacom in Iowa. Am I not going to be able to watch this bad boy or what?

(currently have Comcast here in Chicago)

Not to mention Fred has talked a few times about wanting to get Clanton minutes in games. He wants him ready if they need to turn to him at some point in the conference season.

I was reading the preview article for the UNI-Iowa game on the Register's site and found this quote pretty funny from one of the UNI players:

"It's a big game," UNI's Deon Mitchell said, "where everyone wants to see who is the best school in the state."

Well, Deon, all you have to do is watch the first game to figure that out...

This is why I have mixed feelings about this game. Normally, I'd be 100% for UNI, but not today.

Fred will play the best 8 guys. He has never gone deeper in his bench on a regular basis than 8 and I do not foresee this happening now.

He has rhythm shooters he needs to keep in the game and going deeper than 8 will keep those players on the bench longer knocking them out of their rhythm. Fred knows that to be a good team you have to have 7 or 8 players that you can lean on for the majority of the game, and you need 3 or 4 more that can step in when needed that may not be as consistent. Kourtlin and Stensland will not play unless there are multiple significant injuries/illnesses. Everyone needs to be ready to play any given game. Will Tsalbo/Custer play a lot? No, due to rotation. We don't want an Iowa "lets play everyone to keep everyone happy" problem.

Right. I get that we have a number of guys who can handle the ball, but there are only two pure point guards on the roster - Monte and Custer. People have been pretty quick to write off Custer for this season, but he's going to be a critically important piece if Monte is limited by foul trouble or whatever. It's not about keeping guys happy by force feeding them PT (hi Fran!), but all about making sure that if they get called on in conference season they're ready.

Your only option is viewing it via Cyclones.tv

Fizz will be streaming the game there, if you don't want to buy it. But, the $ that you spend at the bar will far surpass the $10/month it costs for cyclones.tv.

I love the fact Iowa fans have to watch Georges one more time:)

I hope he finds one more way to troll them today. I'd love to see him sneak into an Iowa section of the crowd after his game and get a teammate to take a picture of him sitting there with his ISU colors and a big ol' **** eating grin right in the middle of all the black and gold.

Yes, we all know Fred's regular rotation has been limited to 8 or 9 guys. Not what we are talking about here.

Hopefully Custer and Tsalmpouris are ready enough to warrant "investment" minutes, and hopefully the regular 8 or 9 guys can make those type of minutes available against a bad Drake team. Imo there is not much benefit from guys like Morris and Georges playing over 30 minutes today, but maybe Morris will need to.

It's worth the $10 a month to pick up the games not on TV

Watching "The U" part 1, when the we're talking about how some of them called Bosworth and Jamelle Holloway before their game. Insert "Jameel, come out and plaaay"

Think Georges can find the Iowa fans in the crowd to blow them another kiss?
The way I see it the T-Hok fans owe ISU at least a Xmas card for us coming over there so they get there only sell outs of the year in Basketball and in that crap hole of a football stadium. Love and Kisses. Go Cyclones

I hope this is more like a Drake game in Hilton than on road cause normally we play like crap vs drake on road. But I have a feeling we got rid of our crap play of the week vs southern. When this team hasn't played Ina week or more it usually comes out firing on all cylinders. Drake isn't a good shooting team so I fully expect them to ht some unbelievable shots early. But this game shouldn't be close.

I would say UNI has to beat Iowa by 25 on a neutral court to even begin to have a claim for best team in state... We won by 15 in CHA without trying the last 5 minutes. Sealed with a kiss.
