Yeah, Rhoads is too quick at yanking QBs IMO. Bret Meyer agrees it seems. I hope Mess hasn't ruined Sam Richardson's career already? We shall see. He ruined Steele and JB pretty quickly.

You can't ruin something that never was. Richardson never "was" and neither were the other two.

A lot of you are talking about how Rhoads and Mess need to sit down this off season and talk through how to make the changes necessary to fix this. What do you think they are going to do this whole off season? Of course that will happen. Keep in mind too that you might not notice all the changes they implement. For an offense to be effective changes don't necessarily have to be in terms of a whole scheme, but possibly smaller changes that the average person won't see.

I too don't understand every decision that has been made offensively this season. A lot of options are out there for Rhoads and based on what he has done so far at ISU, I believe he will make a decision that is for the best.

Remind me what a freshman qb who started late in the season was expected to do with a offense that was anemic in all aspects all season? I think he's done pretty well considering.

We are Way beyond "small changes" when you average about 25pts a game, in a league that averages 40pts a game, were talking big changes. This offense needs a complete overhaul, anything less won't do.

If we only average 28 points/gm but score TDs on 4/8 of our possessions we would be alright. We need a more efficient offense as much as we need to score 40 points per game.

So yes, we should go out and sign twenty new offensive Juco players on Signing Day!

Oh, wait...

Interesting article about the WSU transition from Sturdy's offense to Mike Leach's Air Raid:

How is Mike Leach's offense different from Todd Sturdy's? - CougCenter

Great find! We can talk about how everyone sucks, but this link really demonstrates the intricacies of O schemes and how much more goes into it. I have NOTHING to base it on, but it seems to me Mess calls plays off a sheet, whereas Sturdy is SO much more of a strategist and one play is used to set up another play. Sturdy seems to have evidence of an offensive philosophy...

Anyway - thanks for the link - great article.
