Fun game to take the kids to. Didn't have to watch the game closely... though it turns out I should have watched my kids a little closer. My 5 year old wandered off for a good 10 minutes. Had to get the ushers involved to track her down.

Still, had a great time.
Probably looking for Cy. Or ice cream.

My question is why schedule Grambling and other SWAC schools? When we schedule lower level opponents, I would look regionally and to areas that we recruit. Wis Green Bay (we did schedule), Wis Milwaukee (we did not), Chicago State, Lindenwood (St Louis and we did schedule), SEIU, UMKC, Omaha, Denver and St Thomas. Even the Michigan schools like Western Mich, Central Mich, Eastern Mich and Oakland.

Terrence Lewis had one hell of a home coming! As usual, good for a couple made baskets, a couple head scratching turnovers, and watching the opposing team members dribble past him. I don't know if I haver ever seen such a combination of occasionally high ceiling athleticism and at the same time awkward clumsy movement. I wonder if he has flat feet or something. At any rate, hoping he can (finally) have a decent senior season. Will be pulling for Grambling to grab that SWAC auto bid come March.
He looked slower to me which I guessed was due to the knee surgeries. But even Momcilovic blew by him with a drive.

im sure that 90% of the answer on why we schedule whom in the nonconference has to do with how much the buy game costs. JP will pinch pennies forever and that is fine. we play a tough enough conference schedule to balance out a weak non con schedule.

My only concern with the non con this year is that it is weaker than years past, and the B12 landscape has changed with the new teams. Last year, we played everyone twice, so there were plenty of Q1 wins to be had. This year the best chance we have at a quality non con win is the tourney this week

I think this years non conference schedule is perfectly crafted for our young talented team. Let them learn how to win early and often together.

Missouri lost to Jackson St and Arkansas lost to UNC Greensboro over the weekend, in case you're bored with these 50 point wins.

Expanding on your point, Grambling St entered yesterday ahead of Jackson St on KenPom.

Also, Lindenwood beat two 250-300 teams (Nebraska Omaha and William & Mary) in a row this weekend.

It's nice we've played mostly perfect for 4 games. It greatly helps the analytics. We will probably play eventually play a bad half against one of those teams and everyone will panic. Just the way it goes.

I just feel bad for the other team when it's a beatdown like this. I hate being on the other end of those, so I can imagine how they feel. I'm not cutthroat enough, I guess. :)
I hear you and somewhat agree but, I also think that the large sums of $$$ these teams get for coming to play here should help soften the beatdown (that they know is coming)

That said, He was showboating so it was a "good T to call" Had he not "pulled" up" on the rim, I wouldn't have like the call but, since he did that, it's okay that it was called

That was C Jones' best game in a Cyclone uniform. He made great decisions, took good shots, and had excellent results. He's a force on the defensive end and takes very good care of the ball.

Even though the opponent was terrible that type of play and decision making should translate well against tougher opponents. I will be surprised if we don't win the ESPN Invite. This is a top 10 level team.
