If McKay has to dribble the ball more than 3 times he needs to pass. He gets that hell or high water look that he's going to take it no matter what. Cross over yesterday was great but don't channel Percy.

Yep. I hate when we run offense through him. He ain't no Niang. That said, he is a critical piece and needs to understand to step aside when it isn't his night.

McKay struggles sometimes against teams with size. We were a better team without him tonight. I don't tweet but if he has sour words, I'd sit him ne t game too. No room for that crap.

Yep. Prohm needs to establish the fact that he's not going to let one player push him around as a coach - Coach saw what was best in the second half tonight, and it wasn't having McKay out on the floor. No disrespect - he just had an off night. Good players will re-evaluate and embrace that coaching.

I don't think this will end up being anything big, but it IS a learning opportunity.

I don't think that is necessary. He's frustrated. He's too in the moment to realize that it is stupid to be so frustrated.

Agreed. Know who you are and what your strengths are. He doesn't necessarily draw a double team but kick it out if you have to make more than 2 moves to get a good shot.

I think it was probably frustrating for him for a number of reasons. He doesn't seem to get the benefit of the doubt on fouls at either end. Still had 27 minutes, but it had to be hard being on the bench for the critical stretch when we pulled away. Can't blame Prohm either as that combo worked tonight.

He complained because we made a big run with him on the bench? Ooo, not good Mr McKay, time to grow up. It's a team thing.

Really our guys toyed with them, men vs boys. Talent level not even comparable...as it should be with an elite team vs a middling big 10 team

Ehh....I wouldn't exactly say we toyed with them. It was a tie game with around 10 minutes to go. We did close out like we should have.

Illinois had gotten some players back. And our guys were obviously hoping for UAB.

I'm pleased with the win.

Agree. We didn't toy with anyone until the game was over. The game pushed us to find that extra gear and we found it. Very happy with the win especially since it was a back to back game.

So has anyone confirmed who was constantly screaming in the stands during our runs tonight? My buddy was at the game and said it looked like Chris Williams but couldn't be sure. Sounded like a female to me but I know Chris gets excited at ball games so you never know.

Now McKay tweeting something about a dark place. The responses he gets are hilarious. I can't tell if he's trolling or is that much of a flake. I kind of think he just likes messing with people on twitter.

Actually, we don't know what he is frustrated by. Just speculating.

agree...I get the impression he's frustrated with himself for missing some easy shots and getting beat on defense. He's an emotional guy...maybe he needs the reinforcement from fans and teammates. Pretty early in the year to be calling him BDJ.

Enough with the McKay twitter crap. He's either a baby or trolling the morons who care. I'd rather talk basketball and how much I enjoy watching this team. Love whooping up on some B1G teams.

I agree (though I think BDJ got a bad rap too). Emotional players tend to get scrutinized for more than it's worth.

I was forced to depart from the thread for a couple of hours to prepare leftover-turkey-noodle soup.

Nader was unreal. Morris could get a semi-co-game-ball — there were a few bad moments late in first half, I blame that on unfocus, I'll put that on the coach.

I hope the team embraces that a few players will shine on specific days, and they might take a back seat in other games. If so, this team is Dangerous.

This team is special folks. Sit back and enjoy this ride cause what we have here is eerily similar to our 2000 team. And we haven't seen Burton yet. This team when the are in their groove will beat any team..any. Matt T has improved a lot. He's very scrappy and his overall game seems elevated..especially on D and rebounding. This team is beginning to buy into defense and if we are just an above avg defense by years end we have shot to go very far.

Illiwhiny post player used McKay as a blocking sled, by design. McKay gave up 50 pounds. Took him out of his game but opened it for our other guys. Keep the machine oiled Coach.
