Were you trying to debate that prohms time out usage isn't stupid?
Some people must have nothing to do.Nope. It was more than a year ago by this point, but IIRC I commented more on how I had just never really noticed it until that atrocity against FAMU when he did call a timeout at a really weird time. For some strange reason bthebutcher took great offense to that and started to hammer me with it every chance he got. It was to the point where other posters who had absolutely nothing to do with it were calling him out for what a huge d!ck he was being. The guy has literally given me a "dumb" rating for at least every third post I've written the last few days. It's really f*cking weird.
Thanks. I’m in the same boat. I’m not too worried about the fan of the year award though. This product is a waste of time until change is made.Congrats. Fan of the year goes to you!
Pretty interesting.

No. I just think you're the most spectacular a$$hole on this site, and it's not even close.
Pretty sure I'm not the only one who feels that way either.
Oh, I know...the truth hurts doesn't it, little buddy?![]()
You are putting way too much on Hunter. Good lord those are some lofty expectations!I'll admit I think Prohm is a great influence on his players, and I am in the minority that his impact beyond the court is an important factor as to how I grade him as the leader of our student athletes. So, for that reason alone, I'm not needing a change at the top.
However, with all the smoke coming from both the ISU donors and even Wichita State donors, I'm a realist and suspect we'll have a new coach next year.
This post highlights one of my biggest concerns with that situation.
With Foster, Bolton, Hunter, Javan and Hinson, I think we actually could have a pretty darn good team.
Hunter will change things in a way we haven't seen at ISU since Tinsley. He can penetrate through traffic (with or without a ball screen). He can finish at the rim even against tall defenders. This will force defenses to adjust and help out. He seems to be willing to pass the ball when help comes. That combination is something Tyrese/Monte (could penetrate off the ball screen, but not as well breaking down defenders one-on-one) and Wiggy/THT (good at breaking down defenders one-on-one, but not as good at passing when help came) didn't have while at ISU.
Thus, you need guys that can finish and guys that can shoot.
Shooters:
Bolton and Foster are very good shooters when open (e.g., off of ball rotations Hunter would create and off of pick and pop actions that haven't worked with the talent we've had the last two years).
Hinson and Javan appear to be good enough shooters that defenders won't be able to simply sag off into the lane to protect against Hunter attacking the lane.
While I haven't liked some of the decisions Tyler Harris still has in him (and I suspect they'll improve with consistent coaching), I think he is capable of becoming a streaky, but dangerous when hot 3P shooter off the bench.
Finishers:
While some call Bolton soft, he has actually finished around the rim and mid-range pretty well this year and has drawn quite a few fouls in that scenario this year.
Hinson and Foster seem to be very good finishers at the rim, especially when they get the ball off the defensive rotation.
I'm not sure on Javan yet as he's had some issues finishing this year, but he has the athleticism to dunk so I feel like that could be an area of improvement in the offseason.
To make a long story (somewhat) short(er), I feel like we actually could have a really good team next year (yeah, yeah, Prohm can't coach, so he'll screw it up, blah, blah).
On the flip side, we've all heard how close Foster's dad is with Prohm. I have a strong feeling Prohm's NBA PG builder reputation impacted Hunter's decision. After the Penn State debacle for Bolton, Prohm has been a breath of fresh air. Hinson hasn't even played for ISU yet.
If those 4 guys leave next year, we will be even less talented than this year.
So, it comes down to the system and recruiting ties of the new coach.
We’ll be fine, Conditt is gonna score inside on Derek Culver...
How in the hell does Prohm think throwing it inside to Conditt is a good game plan?
Just like how this freshman class was going to come in and contribute and be an improvement on the seniors who left last year. Xavier is the only one who should be seeing more than spot minutes on a decent team, and he is out for the season. None of them have gone off and even had one great game this year. You are putting way too much on Hunter. Good lord those are some lofty expectations!
I once opperated this way in college when it came to picking which of my 3 keys was for the dorm outside door. We had a key for our room, one for the bathroom, and one for the building. My building key was not the middle key, so i would pick whichever key i was sure was the correct key for the building, and then use the opposite key. Worked pretty well.Because Conditt was at his best as a rim runner/run around and bother posts type before 'bulking up' and playing to match the opponent's plan.

I'm rooting for Prohm as long as he's our coach. I'm skeptical that he can turn this around, but this doesn't stop me from rooting for him. (Related, I'll root for any team with Solomon on it.) Which camp does this put me in? The Blind Prohm Loving Camp (BPLC) or the Angry Prohm Hating Camp (APHC)? (Just tell me which team I'm on, please, so that I can participate in this conversation.)
