Thoughts....
Mike Rose is good. Very good.

-Defense has been good, but they can't do this forever and this is Iowa's game unless....

...CMC has some sort of plan by making it the DM show. Last I knew Iowa's defense lets the dink and dunk stuff happen...maybe that's changed over the years? So far ISU has looked to go deeper than needed when it does pass.

-Otherwise they're rope-a-doping ISU's offense by letting DM get his but not letting much else happen.

-It's clear that JGJ must have missed more than just game day festivities.

-Funny thing-- Alley went with just catching the ball and kicking it and it worked.

-Otherwise so far feels like 2012 except both teams look decent. I said it all week and will reiterate--Stanley does not have good feet and that's important in the NFL if Iowa fans are so sure about him.

-I'd imagine if Iowa wins this the 'Pull Kempt' threads will be firing away. Those two passes late were encouraging but won't be consistently there.

Just want reiterate a point I made earlier. The D basically didn’t play in the first quarter. They should have plenty in the tank.

Oh, and when it's first and goal, you go to Butler in the corner or in a backshoulder type of throw to let him get it, and figure it out after that if it doesn't work.

That was stupid.

We have a great running back, but some of those play calls back to back don’t give him much of a chance

If he continues to improve he will be much better than Joel

This. As great as Joel was, he was playing D because he was a gifted athlete, needed, and had the heart of a lion. But he was still playing out of position, and a true LB will be greater than him.

Good to see Dunn get a solid punt off. But I really hope people can stop with the stupid STOP WITH THE RUGBY kicks crap. I'm assuming he's great at it generally, and having a punter who can roll out and kick as well as kick traditionally makes life miserable for special teams who are never quite sure how to drop and cover. Just saying, don't give up on Dunn and the rugby kicks. They can be a serious weapon.

Agree but there is a time and place for them and it's not when your deep in your end of the field.
