At what point do we start pointing at Pollard?
Pollard's football history at ISU:
1. Fire a man who by most evaluations was a very mediocre coach, but who was able to rebuild a program from little and give ISU success in the early 2000's.
2. Hire a guy who said he was willing to give Iowa State a winning tradition, but then leaves after two season that were as miserable as this one.
3. Hired an Alumni favorite to coach. That coach initially has a great amount of success, but after loosing his first OC, fails to hire a new coordinator with any kind of experience until it is too late. (one must wonder why Rhoads hired from within, instead of luring a new OC to lead the program). Of course, we all know how that final season went with OC and HC.
4. Hired a new coach who..well we can evaluate him in a number of ways, but in the end, W-L record and quality of performance in the beginning of the season, and at the end of the season vs opponents that 'should' be easy wins is all we really need to look at.
I'm not sure we can let Campbell go after one season, but I feel the writing is on the wall for Pollard. I hope he moves on of his own accord.
The problem is Iowa State football not who Pollard hires. He's made good hires that haven't worked out. He's the guy who focused on Campbell and hired him.
I'm confident from what I've seen this year, that next season will not see any improvement. Maybe it will take you another season to come around.
Do you miss me yet?.....Paul R.
Stupid. We were going to try and do down the field, get a call against you, and then fold up and walk off the field. We have no idea what we're doing and coaches can't even make up their minds on what to do.
Um he lost to KU
Listening on radio. Campbell just called out the team. Which he should!!
Best ISU plays so far is THEIR fumbled punt and THEIR missed FG
The emotional call is to keep pushing hard 1st and 25 with about a minute and no time outs. However, we have pulled within 4 and if we had turned it over it would have been devastating. I think playing conservative once we got the PI call was the right decision.
I was supprised a bit they let Warren carry the ball in that situation, with his historic fumbilitis in that scenario.
What did Campbell say exactly? I don't blame him at all for calling out the team, but he should also call out a few of his assistants too for some of the playcalling IMO.
