Offensively Guys Like KENE, Montgomery and Deshante are talent we have not had in a while outside of Lazard. Park is progressing well. This experience will be huge for next year. First time we've had a Qb in a while IMO that when he goes back to pass I'm not cringing. Now if we can find couple good LB's and improve the Dline we might be fine next year.

There is more potential in this years true freshman class than any class ISU has seen in a long time. Some guys red shirting could be playing but the staff wisely chose to redshirt them. We are currently seeing what no recruiting plan looks like as well as no focus on OL.

Hard earned win. Beat the teams you're supposed to beat. Beating KU doesn't merit a parade or a banner, but part of the process is learning how to win. Good step today.

Does anyone officially know why Park didn't start? I heard rumors pregame but has it been officially stated?

Kansas player hiding in the endzone until nobody is looking and he can make a break for his car. I don't blame you, fella.

Good win. Huge game by Lazard with those third down receptions. Didn't know we had a ace in the hole with Harger. Shifty guy with good vision. Like.

He was not going to break one, but he did a great job of reading the holes and waiting for them to develop. Tough runner.

Someone mentioned it above, but Wiltz was clearly out of bounds then came back to make that interception at the end of the game. Refs totally missed that. The ref threw his cap because the receiver went out of bounds, but then completely overlooked that Wiltz also stepped out for about three steps. You can only come back in if you were first forced out. So that should have been an "illegal touching" penalty.

But, chalk it up to balancing out one of the fifty times we have been hosed by the refs. I saw Mahomes score a touchdown today and while it was reviewed the announcers were saying, "Well if you don't have a camera right on the goal line then you can't overturn the call." And I thought yeah tell that to the replay official who gave Okie State a touchdown right before halftime when our defense had clearly stopped them a couple years ago.

Anyway, I am glad to see our men rewarded for continuing to work hard. Campbell and staff will get them there, just keep believing. Excited to get to Ames next week.

Sorry if this was discussed earlier in the thread. It seems to me the coaching staff has minimized Lanning's role to goal line road grader. Park had a real nice game, but I thought it wa curious on the last possesion that we didn't bring in Lanning. In the end it worked out? But when we hit the FG to go up by 7, I was nervious KU would drive for a TD and go for two and win.

It's more like the staff didn't want us to fumble the football at that moment and Harger is sure hands..way the Oline was opening holes they knew Harger could get thru and wanted to not fumble the ball away and totally change momentum...When MW decides to stop fumbling at critical moments in ball games then he will play more. Future is Montgomery..he's better anyway. And Kene once he has a full year in off season to mature will be a deadly weapon in the backfield.
The future? You do realize Warren is only a sophomore right?

Sort of a joyless win from my perspective. Just relieved we won. It avoids the angst of a loss to Kansas but this may be the least joy I have ever felt over a Cyclone win and I started in watching in 1969. Hoping next year can rekindle some of my emotion for ISU football. I had maintained it for SO very long.

Pretty sure illegal touching is for offense only, I think as long as the defender gets back in bounds before the interception it's all good.

if there is a ledger out there we are still in the red of getting paid back on calls.

there was a 2nd and 10 situation with us up by 4 on our winning field goal drive i felt was a good situation to bring in Lanning. They were really jumping our run game. Bring in Lanning to grind out 4 or 5 yards to make it an easier 3rd down conversion.

Have to give ku a little credit, they had a B-2 Stealth Bomber fly over before the game today. It was the highlight of the day, the weather was 2 and the win was 3.
